𝗔 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱: 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲

The Municipality of Pontevedra officially opened Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 today with an inspiring message from SK Federation President Remar Lascano, who reminded the youth that despite coming from different barangays and backgrounds, they are united by one powerful thing, the courage to dream.

“We may come from different barangays and backgrounds, but we all share one common thing, to dream,” Lascano said.

For Lascano, however, this year’s Linggo ng Kabataan holds a more personal meaning. With his term as SK Federation President nearing its end, this may be his last Linggo ng Kabataan celebration in the position.

“It has not been easy,” Lascano shared, reflecting on the challenges they encountered throughout their term. Despite the difficulties, he expressed gratitude to the Municipal Government of Pontevedra and his fellow SK Chairpersons for their unwavering support and cooperation.

“We succeeded because we had the support of our LGU and our fellow SK Chairpersons. We may have faced challenges along the way, but we continued to work together,” he said.

Lascano also challenged young leaders to be more involved and confident in their communities, encouraging them not to hesitate when opportunities to lead and participate arise.

“Do not be afraid to take space. Do not be afraid to participate. Your voice matters, and your presence matters,” he reminded the young leaders.

As the celebration begins, Lascano’s message goes beyond his final year in office. It serves as a reminder to the young people of Pontevedra that leadership is about having the courage to dream, the strength to face challenges, and the willingness to step forward.

And as one chapter of his leadership journey comes to a close, his message to the next generation remains clear: dream boldly, take your space, participate, and continue building a better Pontevedra together.

My heartfelt gratitude to the Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay 1 Poblacion, headed by Hon. Barangay Captain Joey Monsale, and the Sangguniang Kabataan Council, headed by Hon. Janu Golez, for the kind invitation to grace the Opening Ceremony of the Inter-Barkada Basketball Tournament 2026.

It was an honor to witness another initiative that promotes sportsmanship, camaraderie, and unity among our youth. Congratulations to the organizers, participating teams, and everyone who made this event possible. Wishing all teams the best of luck throughout the tournament!

Strengthening youth leadership through collaboration and shared purpose.

Hon. Remar A. Lascano proudly attended the Dagyaw Bangon Bayan Youth Summit 2026 alongside Provincial SK Federation President Hon. Mayvelyn Madrid, SK Federation Presidents Hon. Nana Lavadia (Bago City), Hon. Ladislao Villanueva (Toboso), and Hon. Michael John Bais (Pulupandan), together with representatives from the National Youth Commission (NYC), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), PYDO Miss Mardy Mae Javier, PYAP Federation President Renz Roland and fellow youth leaders in Bago City.

Together, we continue to empower the youth, exchange best practices, and strengthen our commitment to building a more active, informed, and resilient generation.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay M. H. Del Pilar, joins the Nutrition Month initiated by the Barangay Council headed by Hon. Barangay Captain Jenny E. Saludares, successfully celebrated the Nutrition Month Culmination, highlighting the importance of proper nutrition, healthy living, and community participation.

Together, let us continue promoting a healthier and stronger Barangay M. H. Del Pilar.
