YEAR 3 Medical and Dental Mission
28–29 May 2026 | Punta Baja, Rizal, Palawan

The Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Command (AFPRESCOM) through the AFPRESCOM Field and Liaison Office – West (AFLO-West) and Technical and Administrative Services Reserve Unit – West proudly participated in the successful conduct of Mission from the Heart Year 3, a multi-sectoral medical, dental, and community outreach activity held on 28–29 May 2026 in Punta Baja, Rizal, Palawan.

The mission brought together government agencies, civic organizations, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community partners with a common goal of delivering essential health services and humanitarian assistance to underserved communities. Through the collective efforts of all stakeholders, the activity served a total of 1,340 beneficiaries from the seven barangays of Bunog, Iraan, Punta Baja, Campung Ulay, Ransang, Candawaga, and Culasian, representing a 6.5% increase in beneficiaries served compared to the previous year.

As part of AFPRESCOM's commitment to nation-building and community development, personnel from AFLO-West and TAS (Res) West, composed of reserve officers and healthcare professionals, actively supported the delivery of medical and dental services, patient management, health promotion activities, and overall mission operations. Their participation demonstrated the vital role of reservists in extending healthcare services to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas while strengthening civil-military relations within local communities.

The Dental Mission rendered a total of 932 dental services to 806 patients, consisting of 552 tooth extractions, 238 fluoride treatments, and 142 oral prophylaxis procedures. The dental component registered a remarkable 122.7% increase in patients served compared to the previous year, underscoring the growing need for oral healthcare services among residents.

The Medical Mission provided consultations, health assessments, and free medicines to 170 patients, addressing various health concerns among children, adults, and senior citizens. Volunteer healthcare providers from both civilian and military sectors worked together to ensure accessible and quality healthcare services throughout the activity.

Additional health services included Vision and Hearing Screening, benefiting 38 patients, who also received free reading glasses. Likewise, 35 children underwent free circumcision procedures performed by volunteer medical teams.

Beyond healthcare interventions, the mission also promoted community welfare through social service initiatives. A total of 122 individuals received free haircuts, while the Kids' Corner catered to 169 children through educational and recreational activities such as book reading, feeding programs, school supply distribution, and values formation activities.

The mission mobilized 153 volunteers and generated an estimated project value of PHP 3,031,340 (USD 49,164), reflecting the significant impact of collaborative humanitarian efforts in improving the health and well-being of local communities.

The participation of AFLO-West and TAS (Res) West exemplifies the AFP Reserve Force's dedication to serving beyond military duties by contributing professional expertise and volunteer service to community development initiatives. Their involvement not only enhanced the delivery of healthcare services but also reinforced the Reservist's role as a dependable partner in humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and nation-building efforts.

The success of Mission from the Heart Year 3 stands as a testament to the power of volunteerism, partnership, and compassionate service. Through the unwavering commitment of all participating organizations and volunteers, hundreds of families gained access to much-needed healthcare services, bringing hope, healing, and positive change to the people of Rizal, Palawan.

"Serving Beyond the Profession. Serving the Nation. Touching Lives Through Compassionate Service."
