This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Provincial Government and the LGU of Pugo to ensuring that elderly beneficiaries receive the assistance they deserve in a convenient, accessible, and compassionate manner. By bringing the services closer to senior citizens, particularly those with mobility challenges, the program promotes their well-being while recognizing their invaluable contributions to the community.

Earlier today, the Local Government Unit of Pugo convened the Incident Management Team (IMT) Briefing to strengthen coordination, enhance preparedness, and ensure an effective response during emergencies and disasters.

The briefing gathered members of the Incident Management Team to discuss the current situation, operational priorities, roles and responsibilities, communication protocols, and the Incident Action Plan (IAP).

Due to continuous rainfall and inclement weather, all rivers within the Municipality of Pugo, La Union, particularly Tapuakan River and Ambangonan River, are temporarily CLOSED effective today, August 3, 2026, until further notice.

For everyone's safety, the public is advised not to enter, swim, trek, picnic, or conduct any recreational activities in these rivers while the closure is in effect. Sudden increases in water level and strong currents may occur without warning.

We ask for your understanding and full cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our residents and visitors.

The Municipal Government will announce once the rivers are safe to reopen.
