During the Startup QC Student Competition Squad 3 Pitch Day and Awarding Ceremony, QC Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office Head Jay Gatmaitan reminded student innovators to look beyond the competition and consider what comes next for their ideas.

He emphasized that the real opportunity begins when an idea becomes a viable product or service, finds its market, and creates value for the people it serves.

Through mentorship, capacity-building, and industry connections, Startup QC encourages young innovators to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career path after graduation. 💡🚀

🚀 47 TEAMS, ONE BIG WIN FOR STUDENT INNOVATION!

What a journey, Squad 3!

The third Startup QC Student Competition brought together young innovators from schools across the country, each ready to develop ideas that respond to real community and industry challenges.

From 153 team applications, 92 passed the shortlisting process and 89 continued to the cadetship. This was more than double the 37 teams that reached the same stage during the program’s second run in 2025.

With guidance from mentors and industry partners, participants learned how to understand their markets, strengthen their business plans, manage their finances, protect their ideas, and pitch with confidence.

The journey culminated on September 3 at the Quezon City MICE Center. Congratulations once again to Creekbin, Agriculture Farming Innovation Technology, and Birdseye for receiving the competition’s top three awards! 🏆

Eleven teams also received Silver Awards, while 33 received Bronze Awards. In total, 47 student teams received Php 995,000 in cash prizes to help them continue developing their solutions.
Thank you to our students, mentors, judges, schools, and partner institutions for making Squad 3 possible. 💙

To every Squad 3 innovator, this is not the finish line. Keep refining your solutions, and once ready and eligible, take the next step through the Startup QC Professional Category for further mentorship, industry connections, and development opportunities.
