Gray hair is unprofessional!

Ayan nanaman kayo mga hepe! Nagsalita nanaman nang hindi masyadong nag-iisip.

First of all, alamin muna kung bakit nagkaka uban ang tao.

As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent color — like gray, silver, or white — as it grows.

So Hepe, kasama pala yan sa natural na proseso nang pagtanda.

Pano kaya yun Hepe, ang mandatory retirement sa BFP eh 56 so ibig sabihin maedad na yun. Malamang may mga uban na kaso di professional!

Pangalawa, baka naman pwedeng imbes na yung uban ang pagdiskitihan at sabihing unprofessional, unahin nyo po munang bawalin yung mga naka highlights na uniformed personnel. Unang una, hindi po kayo modelo. Kawani po kayo.

Pangatlo, kung ipapalusot naman na “suggestion” lang naman, hindi naman compliance, eh Hepe, alam mo sana ang power nang salita mo. Kasi uniformed kayo. The rank and file “value” your suggestions. Pwede ba next time mag suggest ka naman nang maayos?

Ultimately, my two cents is - graying is not unprofessional. It is a part of normal aging process which an individual (uniformed or civilian) has the RIGHT to go through naturally as long as said individual complies with the standards of grooming within the Agency.

Because hair dyes contain many chemicals and hair colourants alter the hair's protein structure (through permanent and demipermanent dyeing), they can cause side effects like loss of hair strength, hair loss, roughness of hair follicle, etc. And these are just the milder side effects. There are people who develop severe allergic reaction to these chemicals.

Please think about political correctness. It is not because people are sensitive nowadays but as the top brass, you should set a good example and avoid expressions or actions that can be perceived to exclude or marginalize or insult people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against.

Age discrimination is A THING.

As leaders in the community and within the Agency, we should uphold a great deal of discipline and set high standards when it comes to how we present ourselves. However, we should also learn to align our leadership, our pep talks, our comments with the changing climate of our society so that we could evolve to be better and not be left out as the ONLY simple-minded person in the room.

Graying is not unprofessional! BUT GRAYING WITHOUT MATURING IS!

Chivalry is Dead

For quite sometime now, women are relentlessly calling for EQUALITY - in opportunity, salary, social standing, in relationships and marriage (even though God placed the husband’s authority above his wife, but we will not be talking about the scriptures).

But remember:

EQUALITY IS NEVER WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY!

Kung gusto nang female firefighter nang pagkaka pareha, dapat PATAS rin sa lahat. Including duties and responsibilities.

Huwag tayong pabebe kung gusto nang pagkaka pantay-pantay!

Thoughts to ponder:

Huwag po sana tayong umasta na may utang na loob sa atin ang Pilipinas because we chose to be civil servants. Mas malaki po ang naitutulong nang Pilipinas sa inyo kesa sa naitutulong nyo sa kanya. Infact, you are overpaid for the work you are doing nga po mga Ma’am at Sir na may ranggo, hepe, at opisyal. Dahil ang totoo, bihira naman sa inyo ang may output na sarili. Nagkakaron lang kayo dahil sa input sa inyo nang mga nakakababa sa inyo who are working way more than you do. Ikaw na boss, pa fb fb lang. May taga timpla pa nang kape.

Hindi mo naman kasalanan yan Hepe. Kasama yang pribilehiyong yan sa ranggo mo. Pero hepe, share the credit to your subordinates. Purihin mo rin sila paminsan minsan. Hindi ka lang boss, morale officer ka rin.

Don’t get us wrong. Hindi namin sinasabing hindi ka bayani at wala kang halaga. People are actually grateful for your services, sacrifices, and the risks you take para sa mamamayan. Lalo
Na sa mga fire safety inspections nyo. Kung hindi dahil diyan, maraming unsafe infrastructures ang matatayo nang hindi nakikita ang mga potential fire hazards. Kaya sir at mam pagbutihan nyo po ha.

At sa mga bata at bagong bumbero, Bring pride to your uniform po. Hindi yung uniform ang nagdadala nang pride sayo. Okay, Sir, Mam?

SAY LESS THAN NECESSARY

Kasi po Sir at Ma’am, ang totoo, you look more intelligent when you are NOT TALKING!

Hindi naman kapintasan ang kawalan nang kaaalaman. Dahil ang BUMBERO, you can HONE them for greatness! You can train them to be better! Yan ang kapangyarihan na meron ka bilang RANKING OFFICER. You have the power to MAKE (or BREAK)!

Kaya po Sir at Ma’am na may ranggo, yan pong nasa balikat nyo, hindi lang para sinasaluduhan kayo! It also signifies kung gaano kalaki ang responsibilidad na nasa balikat n’yo! Ginagamit rin po yan para mag turo nang mabuti at kapaki pakinabang. Hindi yung ipapadala mo si FO1 sa training. At bahala na s’ya. Inaaaral mo rin po sana kung ano yung natutunan nya!

Eh ang masama, hindi ka na nga nagturo nang mabuti ikaw na opisyal, hepe at team leader, nag turo ka pa nang masama. Anak ka naman nang teteng!

Yung gumagawa ka nang katiwalian, is one thing! Yung ipamana mo yan sa bagong bumbero is another!

Sir at Mam na may ranggo, NOT BEING CAUGHT IN A LIE IS NOT THE SAME THING AS TELLING THE TRUTH PO.

Tandaan! Marami nang aktibista ngayon. Mag iingat po tayo. Baka bukas makalawa, sikat ka na.

Mayroon po bang kaalaman sa managerial level AT may taglay bang LEADERSHIP SKILLS yung mga nagiging hepe nang Bureau? Akala yata kasi nila, kapag na-promote at tumaas ang ranggo, pati IQ TUMATAAS! Sus. Hindi po. Nakaka laki nang ulo mana pa. Nang tumaas ang sweldo nang mga bumbero, hindi po yun utang na loob sa hepe. Dahil hindi naman po sa bulsa nyo nang gagaling ang sweldo nang mas mababa sa inyo.

Yes. Rank has its privileges. But it does not include abusing your exercise of authority towards others. Alam nyo ba ba MALI na pigilan mag leave ang
TAO nyo lalo na at may sakit or may family emergency? Sana po akin nyo ang mga policies and procedures ang Civil Service Commission oag dating sa mga ganyan.

Mayroong KAKAUNTING PORSYENTO PERO MAJORITY SA INYO Hindi naman kayo napunta jan dahil mahusay kayo! Napunta lang kayo jan kasi meron kayong kakilala or meron kayong nalagyan!OR SA TAGAL NYO
NALANG SA SERBISYO.

Two way po ang pag galang. Tignan nyo, YUNG MAHUHUSAY NA HEPE, meron silang mabubuting tao kasi napapa buti nila. Kung puro REJECT ANG NASA IYO, mag isip ka. Baka naman pinuno kang batingaw lang na umaalungawngaw.

Kung mas matalino sa iyo ang tao mo, utilize them wisely. Alagaan mo. Asset yan. Hindi kalaban. A good leader knows to surround himself with intelligent people and they all shine together.

Hepe, hindi ka mag fu-function mag isa. Alagaan nyo po ang mga tao nyo. Hindi yung mga amen lang nang amen sa inyo. Kasi nagtra trabaho sa iyo
Yan. Magbubukingan pa ba tayo rito kung anu ano pinapagawa mo sa mga tao mo? Eh lahat nang ginagawa mo alam nyan. (hindi to PETTY lang, READ BETWEEN THE LINES). Sa managerial, ang success nang isa, success nang lahat! Palpak nang isa, palpak nyong lahat.
