Five abandoned inbound parcels containing suspected illegal drugs were intercepted during a coordinated interdiction operation at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) along Domestic Road, Pasay City on May 26, 2026.

The operation conducted was carried out by intelligence and interdiction personnel of Aviation Security Unit, National Capital Region, in coordination with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The parcels were flagged during routine x-ray screening and further subjected to manual examination and K-9 inspection, which led to the discovery of various suspected dangerous drugs concealed in declared items such as canned goods, boxed products, and other packages.

Based on initial assessment, the seized items include suspected methylenedioxymethamphetamine (M**A) or ecstasy, ma*****na kush, co***ne, ketamine, ecstasy tablets, and other unidentified substances, with an estimated total street value exceeding ₱6.4 million.

The parcels were found abandoned and were reportedly consigned to multiple individuals in Pampanga and Cagayan de Oro, while the shipments originated from addresses in Canada and France.

The accomplishment supports the Philippine National Police’s focused agenda on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, in line with strengthened border control efforts under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operatives and partner agencies for their vigilance and coordination.

All recovered substances have been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper laboratory examination and legal disposition.
The PNP reiterated its commitment to sustained border security operations as part of its campaign for a safer and drug-free Philippines, in line with the vision of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

“Our duty goes beyond protection; it is also about compassion and care for those in need.”

₱162M MA*****NA PLANTS DESTROYED IN ONE-DAY CORDILLERA ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUG OPERATION

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs as operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region dismantled multiple ma*****na plantation sites in Tinglayan, Kalinga, resulting in the destruction of ma*****na plants with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱162,020,000.

In a one-day operation conducted at Mt. Whatong, Barangay Loccong, combined operatives discovered eight plantation sites spanning around 52,000 square meters. The eradicated plants included approximately 456,000 fully grown ma*****na plants, 338,000 seedlings, and about 477,500 grams of dried ma*****na stalks with leaves and fruiting tops.

The operation was conducted with the coordinated efforts of PDEA Kalinga and various police operational units in the region, with support from drone surveillance that helped locate the hidden plantations in the mountainous terrain.

All discovered ma*****na plants were properly documented and subsequently uprooted and destroyed on site. Authorities are now pursuing leads to identify the individuals or groups behind the illegal cultivation.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units, stressing that the accomplishment reflects the organization’s sustained drive to address illegal drugs at the source.

The operation aligns with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, reinforcing field-driven, intelligence-supported interventions, in support of the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen anti-illegal drug efforts nationwide.

The PNP reaffirmed its commitment to sustained operations and closer inter-agency coordination to prevent the resurgence of illegal plantations in remote areas. It likewise emphasized that these efforts are part of its continuing mission to safeguard communities, with the principle of Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman reflected in every operation on the ground.

PNP-ACG, INTER-AGENCY TEAM SHUT DOWN ONLINE INVESTMENT FRAUD HUB IN PASIG CITY; 63 NABBED

A major cyber enforcement operation led by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG), in close coordination with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), Department of Justice – Office of Cybercrime (DOJ-OOC), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Pasig City local government, resulted in the dismantling of a suspected large-scale online investment scam hub operating in Pasig City.

The operation was conducted on May 20, 2026 through the implementation of a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data, leading to the arrest of 63 individuals, including a 55-year-old foreign national identified by the alias “Boss,” believed to have played a key leadership role in the scheme.

Authorities uncovered an organized online operation that presented itself as a legitimate call center and investment assistance company. Victims were reportedly drawn in through online advertisements and messaging platforms and later encouraged to invest in a trading scheme under the name “XTRADE,” where individuals posing as financial advisers maintained constant communication to sustain deposits and manage account activity.

Further investigation showed that the operation was highly structured, with assigned roles for online promotion, client engagement, and retention efforts, all designed to simulate legitimate investment activity. Verification with regulators confirmed that the entities involved were not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and had no authority to solicit investments from the public.

The case was triggered by multiple complaints from individuals who reported significant financial losses after being engaged through persistent online messaging and deceptive investment presentations.

Authorities also confirmed that the foreign national tagged as “Boss” has an existing warrant of arrest issued by a Pasig City Regional Trial Court involving multiple tax-related charges. The warrant was served during custodial procedures on May 25, 2026.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., underscored the importance of sustained and coordinated action against evolving cyber fraud schemes.

“These groups are becoming more sophisticated in how they operate online, but our law enforcement response is also becoming faster, sharper, and more united,” the PGen Nartatez. The PNP, together with our partner agencies, will continue to act with urgency and resolve.”

Cyber-related cases have been filed against arrested individuals.

The operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, reinforcing intelligence-led coordination and inter-agency convergence in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to intensify efforts against cyber-enabled financial crimes and protect the investing public.

Guided by the principle “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” the PNP remains firm in its commitment to disrupt online fraud networks and safeguard the public from deceptive digital schemes.
