1. Context and Weather Situation
Following the official declaration by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on May 30, 2026, regarding the onset of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the public is advised that the country is now transitioning into the rainy season.
The dominance of the Habagat, being enhanced by weather systems over the Philippine Sea, is expected to bring occasional to frequent heavy rains and thunderstorms.
2. Current Laguna de Bay Water Level Status
As of June 5, 2026, near-real-time monitoring across LLDAโs Radar Level Sensors (RLS) indicates that the average water level of Laguna de Bay stands at approximately 10.82 to 10.85 meters.
For public reference, the operational thresholds for the lake's water surface elevation are as follows:
Critical Low Level: 10.50 meters
Current Level: 10.82m โ 10.85m (Normal/Safe Transition Range)
Critical High Level: 12.50 meters
While current elevations remain well below the critical high-water mark, the lake acts as a natural catch basin for the surrounding watersheds of Rizal, Laguna, and parts of Metro Manila. Continuous monsoon rains will trigger a steady rise in water levels in the coming weeks.
3. Precautionary Measures and Guidelines
FOR LAKESHORE COMMUNITIES & LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS (LGUs):
Monitor Low-Lying Areas: Coastal barangays in low-lying lakeshore municipalities must closely monitor local/localized flooding, especially during peak and prolonged downpours.
Clear Drainage and Waterways: LGUs are urged to maintain unclogged drainage systems and river tributaries feeding into the lake to mitigate flash floods.
FOR FISHERFOLK AND AQUACULTURE OPERATORS:
Secure Fish Pens/Cages: Operators of fish pens and cages within the lake's aquaculture zones are advised to reinforce their structures against strong winds and wave action associated with severe monsoon thunderstorms.
Check Water Quality Indicators: Anticipate sudden changes in water temperature and turbidity due to urban and agricultural runoff, which can impact dissolved oxygen levels.
FOR WATER CONCESSIONAIRES:
Drastic changes in the Lakeโs water quality: Expect spikes in turbidity level (from resuspended lakebed sediments and runoff from sub-basins) caused by strong monsoon winds and strong water currents from sub-basin inflows; Influx of organic and chemical pollution; and solid wastes.
4. Continued Monitoring
The LLDA, in coordination with the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC - IVA) and with guidance from PAGASA, will continuously track the lake's elevation and watershed inflows.
Regular updates will be posted via the official LLDA page. The public is advised to remain vigilant, keep emergency channels open, and cooperate with local disaster response teams.

1. Kalagayan ng Panahon
Kasunod ng opisyal na pag-anunsyo ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) noong Mayo 30, 2026 hinggil sa pagsisimula ng Southwest Monsoon o Habagat, ipinababatid sa publiko na ang bansa ay pumasok na sa panahon ng tag-ulan.
Ang umiiral na Habagat, na pinalalakas ng mga sistemang pang-panahon sa Philippine Sea, ay inaasahang magdadala ng paminsan-minsan hanggang madalas na malalakas na pag-ulan at thunderstorms sa mga susunod na araw.
2. Kasalukuyang Kalagayan ng Lebel ng Tubig sa Laguna de Bay
Batay sa near-real-time monitoring ng mga Radar Level Sensor (RLS) ng LLDA ngayong Hunyo 5, 2026, ang karaniwang lebel ng tubig sa Laguna de Bay ay nasa humigit-kumulang 10.82 hanggang 10.85 metro.
Para sa kaalaman ng publiko, ang mga operational threshold ng lebel ng tubig sa lawa ay ang mga sumusunod:
โข Kritikal na Mababang Lebel: 10.50 metro
โข Kasalukuyang Lebel: 10.82โ10.85 metro (Normal / Ligtas na Antas ng Paglipat ng Panahon)
โข Kritikal na Mataas na Lebel: 12.50 metro
Bagamaโt nananatiling malayo sa kritikal na mataas na lebel ang kasalukuyang taas ng tubig, mahalagang tandaan na ang Laguna de Bay ay nagsisilbing natural na catch basin ng mga watershed mula sa Rizal, Laguna, at ilang bahagi ng Metro Manila. Dahil dito, inaasahang magdudulot ang tuluy-tuloy na pag-ulan dulot ng Habagat ng unti-unting pagtaas ng lebel ng tubig sa mga susunod na linggo.
3. Mga Paalala at Hakbang sa Pagiingat
PARA SA MGA PAMAYANANG NASA BAYBAYIN NG LAWA AT MGA LOKAL NA PAMAHALAAN (LGUs):
โข Bantayan ang mga Mababang Lugar โ Ang mga barangay na nasa mabababang lugar sa paligid ng lawa ay pinapayuhang mahigpit na subaybayan ang posibilidad ng lokal na pagbaha, lalo na sa panahon ng matindi at matagal na pag-ulan.
โข Panatilihing Malinis ang mga Daluyan ng Tubig โ Hinihikayat ang mga LGU na tiyaking malinis at walang bara ang mga drainage system at mga tributaryong umaagos patungo sa lawa upang mabawasan ang panganib ng biglaang pagbaha.
PARA SA MGA MANGINGISDA AT OPERADOR NG AQUACULTURE:
โข Patatagin ang mga Fish Pen at Fish Cage โ Pinapayuhan ang mga operator ng fish pen at fish cage sa loob ng lawa na tiyaking matibay at ligtas ang kanilang mga istruktura laban sa malalakas na hangin at alon na maaaring dulot ng malalakas na thunderstorms na kaugnay ng Habagat.
โข Bantayan ang Kalidad ng Tubig โ Inaasahan ang biglaang pagbabago sa temperatura at labo ng tubig dahil sa pagdaloy ng tubig-ulan mula sa mga urban at agrikultural na lugar, na maaaring makaapekto sa dissolved oxygen at kalusugan ng mga alagang isda.
PARA SA MGA WATER CONCESSIONAIRE:
โข Maging Handa sa Malalaking Pagbabago sa Kalidad ng Tubig ng Lawa โ Maaaring tumaas ang antas ng turbidity dahil sa pag-angat ng mga sediment sa ilalim ng lawa at pagdaloy ng tubig mula sa mga sub-basin bunsod ng malalakas na hangin at agos ng tubig. Posible ring magkaroon ng pagdami ng organikong at kemikal na polusyon, gayundin ng mga solid waste na inanod patungo sa lawa.
4. PATULOY NA PAGMONITOR
Patuloy na minomonitor ng LLDA, sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC-IVA) at sa gabay ng PAGASA, ang lebel ng tubig sa lawa at ang mga pagdaloy ng tubig mula sa mga watershed.
Ang mga regular na update ay ilalathala sa opisyal na mga plataporma ng LLDA.
Pinapayuhan ang publiko na manatiling mapagmatyag, panatilihing bukas ang mga linya ng komunikasyon para sa emerhensiya, at makipagtulungan sa mga lokal na disaster response team kung kinakailangan.
