Every girl has the right to accurate information, access to essential health services, and a safe, supportive environment where she can grow and thrive.
The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) reaffirms its commitment to uphold and promote the rights and well-being of every girl, in line with its mandate to coordinate and strengthen policies and programs for children’s protection and development.

When girls are informed and empowered, they are more likely to stay in school, make healthy decisions, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Investing in girls today leads to stronger families, healthier communities, and a more equitable society.
This Girl Child Week 2026, let us continue working together to protect, empower, and uplift every girl—ensuring that no one is left behind.

But for many adolescents, limited access to reliable information and essential services can change everything.
Child, early, and forced marriage remains as one of the most pressing concerns in child protection, and laws such as RA 11596 continue to face challenges in enforcement. As a result, many boys leave school early to provide for their families, while some girls are able to continue their education—until pregnancy disrupts it.

Early childbearing reduces the likelihood of completing school, limiting opportunities and shaping futures too soon.

We must:
✅ Expand access to accurate information and ASRH services
✅ Strengthen enforcement of child protection and anti-child marriage laws
✅ Support adolescents, especially girls, in continuing their education
✅ Address stigma, mental health, and socioeconomic vulnerability
Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and build their future.

Globally, 1 in 5 girls is married before the age of 18.

Child marriage is not only a major risk factor for early pregnancy, it also increases risk of:

⚡️ Violence
⚡️ Dropping out of school
⚡️ Mental health conditions
⚡️ HIV/AIDS & other sexually transmitted infections

Every girl deserves health, education & the ability to shape their future.

𝗞𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗸𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻. 💜

Many young people in the Philippines still face gaps in knowledge when it comes to sexual and reproductive health. Only 76% of those aged 15–24 have heard of HIV and AIDS, marking a decline in awareness over the years.

At the same time, the country records around 57 new HIV cases daily, with one-third affecting young people aged 15–24.

Low awareness and limited understanding continue to undermine HIV prevention efforts—highlighting that health education is more important than ever.
We must continue to:
✅ Strengthen HIV education in schools
✅ Expand access to testing and counseling
✅ Raise awareness through youth-friendly campaigns

Providing accurate, age-appropriate information and accessible, youth-friendly services is essential to protect the health and future of young people.

Tuwing ika-apat na linggo ng Marso, ipinagdiriwang sa Pilipinas ang Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week sa bisa ng 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟳𝟱𝟵, 𝘀. 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟲. Nakasaad dito na ang bawat batang babae na may edad 18 years old pababa ay dapat mabigyan ng 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗮 𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱 at 𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗸𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 upang maihanda sila sa mga gampanin sa pag-unlad ng lipunan.

Layunin ng pagdiriwang na ito na itaguyod ang karapatan, proteksyon, at pantay na oportunidad ng bawat batang babae upang sila ay maging handa at aktibong makibahagi sa pag-unlad ng lipunan.

Mahalagang tiyakin na ang bawat batang babae ay ligtas, may sapat na kaalaman, at may pagkakataong maabot ang kanilang mga pangarap.

The Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) IV-A CALABARZON invites prospective adoptive and foster parents residing in the CALABARZON Region to participate in our Pre-Adoption Forum and Alternative Child Care Forum, the initial orientation for individuals and families interested in the Adoption and Alternative Child Care (AACC) programs.

To provide more focused discussions, the forums are conducted separately:

📌 Pre-Adoption Forum – conducted every first Thursday of the month
📌 Alternative Child Care Forum – conducted every last Thursday of the month

All sessions are conducted online and serve as mandatory orientation sessions for individuals who intend to pursue adoption or foster care.
