In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and recognition, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Barucboc National High School, together with the classroom presidents, successfully conducted SSLG Pagpupugay: Project Gawad G**o during the 4th Quarter Recognition Ceremony on March 27, 2026.

Through simple yet meaningful certificates of appreciation, the learners honored both advisers and non-adviser teachers whose dedication, patience, and passion continue to shape the minds and character of every student. The activity aimed to recognize the invaluable role of teachers as mentors, role models, and second parents who guide learners not only in academics but also in life.

This initiative served as a simple but sincere way for the learners of Barucboc National High School to express their appreciation to the educators who tirelessly dedicate their time and effort in molding the future generation.

Barucboc National High School marked the celebration of National Womenโ€™s Month on March 16, 2026 at the BNHS Quadrangle through a meaningful program that highlighted the strength, leadership, and significant contributions of women in the community.

The activity began with an opening message from Principal IV Joel R. Antipolo, who spoke about the important role of women as life givers and foundations of the family. He shared that women carry the gift of life and nurture individuals who will later contribute to society. He also described mothers as the โ€œilaw ng tahananโ€ who guide their families with love and wisdom. Antipolo also recognized the women teachers of BNHS for their dedication in educating and shaping students to become responsible members of society.

SPTA President Rexan C. Cabico Sr. also delivered a message expressing appreciation for women educators who continuously serve the school while fulfilling their responsibilities at home. He acknowledged their hard work, commitment, and the positive influence they bring in guiding learners toward success.

Adding excitement to the program, the Mx Sining candidates of BNHS, representing LGBTQI learners, performed an intermission number as they confidently walked on stage wearing casual dresses in shades of purple, the official color symbolizing Womenโ€™s Month. Their performance reflected the spirit of inclusivity, pride, and diversity within the school community.

Barangay Captain Hon. Rolando P. Marcos also shared a message of support during the celebration. He emphasized that both men and women have equal importance in society and acknowledged teachers as second parents who work together with families in guiding young learners. Marcos also encouraged everyone to remember that each person has a purpose in life despite differences in background, and he urged the community to continue praying for peace amid current global issues.

The celebration continued with a lively dance performance from the Supreme Secondary Learner Government officers, demonstrating the enthusiasm and participation of student leaders in supporting school programs and fostering unity among students.

Meanwhile, SGC Elected Co Chairperson Mr. W***y L. Sinoli Sr. LlB spoke about laws and policies that recognize and protect the rights of women, including the Magna Carta of Women which promotes gender equality and eliminates discrimination. He highlighted that women play many important roles in society not only as mothers, sisters, teachers, or leaders but also as individuals capable of creating positive change. Sinoli also encouraged young women to continue dreaming boldly and expressed hope that someday a woman from BNHS will rise and be recognized for her achievements.

The guest speaker Ma. Katleen Maye A. Haban RGC delivered an inspiring talk which was formally introduced by James Amoy. In her message, she encouraged students to appreciate the women in their lives including mothers, grandmothers, sisters, teachers, and friends who continue to show strength and resilience every day. She also shared that even before the Spanish colonization, Filipino women already held leadership roles in their communities as Babaylans who served as healers, advisers, and spiritual guides.

She further emphasized the importance of breaking gender stereotypes and reminded the audience that opportunities and dreams should never be limited by gender. She also cited the story of Hidilyn Diaz, the first Filipina Olympic gold medalist, as an example of determination and perseverance that brought pride to the country. The speaker concluded by encouraging the youth to practice respect, equality, and inclusivity in their everyday actions.

As part of the celebration, women educators of the school were recognized through the awarding of special recognition sashes. Under the category Empowered Woman Educator, the awardees were Maโ€™am Faith, Maโ€™am Hart, Maโ€™am Gina, Maโ€™am Charlyn, Maโ€™am Rachielle, and Maโ€™am Nela.

For the category Champion of Learning, the recipients were Maโ€™am Romelia, Maโ€™am Norelyn, Maโ€™am Gemma, Maโ€™am Venus, Maโ€™am Helen, Maโ€™am Princess Joy, Maโ€™am Gliaza, and Maโ€™am Judith.

Meanwhile, the Advocate of Education sash was awarded to Kathleen Maye A. Haban, Maโ€™am Steph, Maโ€™am Imee, Maโ€™am Tina, Michelle F. Ga, Aprilyn, Nympha, and Raquel.

Another highlight of the program was the Indigenous Peoples dance presentation which showcased the rich culture and traditions of indigenous communities, reminding everyone about the importance of preserving cultural heritage.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Rodel Laman who expressed his gratitude to the guests, teachers, and students for their presence and support. He thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration and reaffirmed the schoolโ€™s commitment to continuously recognizing the role of women in building a more inclusive and progressive society.

Through this celebration, Barucboc National High School once again emphasized the importance of honoring the strength, leadership, and lasting contributions of women in shaping both the present and the future of the community.

Three days in, and the support keeps growing. Today showed how powerful a simple act of support can be when a community comes together. From groups of friends dropping by, to students taking time to celebrate the women around them, Day 3 was filled with genuine smiles, fun moments, and meaningful participation.

What started as a small initiative is slowly turning into a shared celebration across the campus. Seeing students support, laugh together, and take part in this activity reminds us that empowering women is not just a message for a month, but a value that we carry as a community.

To everyone who visited and supported today, thank you for being part of something meaningful. Your presence made Day 3 another memorable chapter of our Womenโ€™s Month celebration.
