An Alternative Learning System (ALS) graduate in Nagtipunan, Quirino successfully turned her self-taught passion for baking into a growing livelihood after receiving assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
Glory Jane Castisimo started baking at home without formal culinary education, learning only through online tutorials. With every order she received, she reinvested her earnings into ingredients, baking tools, and equipment to slowly improve her products and grow her small business.
As customer orders increased, her small home oven could no longer keep up with the demand. The challenge became even harder when the oven suddenly broke down, forcing her to temporarily stop production despite the steady flow of orders.
While still enrolled as an ALS learner, Glory Jane learned about the DILP after seeing an announcement at the Municipal Public Employment Service Office (MPESO) of Nagtipunan. Seeing the opportunity to continue and improve her livelihood, she immediately submitted her application.
On November 24, 2025, Glory Jane received a heavy-duty gas oven through the DILP, allowing her to resume baking and accept more orders. She also attended business management training to improve her financial management and help sustain her growing enterprise. Before this, she completed Bread and Pastry Production Training through the PESO, which further enhanced her baking skills and product quality.
The assistance helped increase her production capacity and expand her customer base. As sales improved, Glory Jane continued to reinvest her earnings, enabling her to purchase additional baking tools, high-quality mixers, and extra ovens.
Her growing business also allowed her to buy a motorcycle with a sidecar for product deliveries, as well as a laptop and printer to improve business operations, customer transactions, and record-keeping.

She also thanked DOLE and the MPESO of Nagtipunan for believing in the potential of small entrepreneurs like her.
