MAYOR LIM SETS EXAMPLE IN SUPPORTING LOCAL FARMERS
Mayor Noel Lim Leads Vegetable Buyout to Support Farmers in Nagtipunan, Quirino Province
Noel Lim in Nagtipunan, Quirino Province has initiated a large-scale vegetable procurement program aimed at preventing post-harvest losses and supporting local farmers’ livelihoods.
On March 29, 2026, the local government purchased approximately eight tons of cabbage from farmers in Barangay Giayan. The produce was scheduled for distribution to families across the municipality on March 30, ensuring that the harvest would not go to waste while directly benefiting residents.
Earlier, on March 27, the municipal government also procured a bulk supply of tomatoes from farmers in Barangay Asaklat under the mayor’s leadership.
According to Mayor Lim, the initiative was driven by the need to prevent farmers’ harvests from being wasted and to help them recover their capital. This, he emphasized, would enable farmers to continue planting and sustain their livelihoods.
The program highlights the local government’s proactive approach in addressing agricultural challenges while strengthening the connection between farmers and the community they serve.
