SCRABBLE & CHESS COMPETITION

MECHANICS
•Open to bona fide youth/residents of Barangay Mascap, ages 15–30 years old.

Scrabble: First 5 participants
• All 5 participants will play in one game.
• Each participant will earn points based on the words they form.
• At the end of the game, the top 3 participants with the highest total scores will be declared the winners.

In case of a tie, a tie-breaker will be conducted.

Chess: First 8 participants
• Participants will be divided into 4 pairs through random draw.
• Quarterfinals: 8 players → 4 winners.
• Semifinals: 4 players → 2 winners.
• Final Match: The 2 semifinal winners will compete for 1st and 2nd Place.
• 3rd Place Match: The 2 semifinal losers will compete for 3rd Place.
• Each game may be played using a 5-minute time control per player.

PRIZES EACH CATEGORY
🥇 1st Place - ₱1,000
🥈 2nd Place - ₱700
🥉 3rd Place - ₱500

GENERAL QUIZ BEE

MECHANICS

1. Open to bona fide youth/residents of Barangay Mascap, ages 15–30 years old.
2. The competition will have ten (10) teams, with two (2) members per team, for a total of twenty (20) participants.
3. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
4. The Quiz Bee will consist of three (3) rounds, with ten (10) questions per round:
* Round 1 – Easy
* Round 2 – Medium
* Round 3 – Difficult
5. All teams will participate in all three rounds.
6. Each team will be given a designated time to discuss and submit their answer for every question.
7. Only answers submitted within the given time limit will be considered.
8. The team’s score from each round will be accumulated to determine the final ranking.
9. The team with the highest total score will be declared the champion.

ROUND 1 – EASY
• 10 questions
• Each correct answer is worth 1 point.
• Maximum score: 10 points

ROUND 2 – MEDIUM
• 10 questions
• Each correct answer is worth 3 points.
• Maximum score: 30 points

ROUND 3 – DIFFICULT
• 10 questions
• Each correct answer is worth 5 points.
• Maximum score: 50 points

🏆 FINAL RANKING

🥇 1st Place – 1,000
🥈 2nd Place – 700
🥉 3rd Place – 500

Tie-breaker: In case of a tie in the final ranking, the tied teams will be given additional questions. The tie-breaker will continue until the tie is broken and the final ranking is determined.
