Sportsminded Visayas Season 2:
Golden athletes from Sagay city

Sagay City athletes Marjen R. Iwayan and Jonel N. Metoda Jr. gave Negros Island Region (NIR) a strong start in the Palarong Pambansa 2026, each striking gold in athletics.

Iwayan claimed the region’s first gold, while Metoda followed with a victory in the Elementary Boys Javelin Throw, completing a double-gold performance for Sagay City.

Both athletes train under Sir Norven Ledesma, marking a proud and historic debut for NIR on the national stage.

The spirit of hope and shared commitment continues as Lapis Kag Papel Year 8 reached the learners of Onofre de la Paz Elementary School and Bulanon Farm School – Onofre Extension, together with the steadfast support of Mayor Bebo Cueva, SP Member Perfecto Marañon, and SP Member Benson Fernandez.

No distance is too far when it comes to education. Through this meaningful initiative, our learners received learning tools that will support them in their journey, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and supported by a community that believes in their dreams.

Sino ba dapat ang lapitan kapag may bullying - ayon sa bagong Anti-Bullying IRR?

Sa ilalim ng DepEd Memorandum No. 90, s. 2025, may tatlong levels ng bullying:

1️⃣ Sa unang level, susubukan muna ng Classroom Teacher ang kaso.
2️⃣ Sa 2nd level naman, papasok na si Learner Formation Officer para mabilis ang aksyon.
3️⃣ Sa Third Level, kung saan may banta na sa safety ng bata, diretso na sa Principal.

A meaningful milestone unfolds at Sagay National High School as Lapis Kag Papel Year 8 continues to reach and empower our learners, joined by the unwavering support of Mayor Bebo Cueva and SP Member Perfecto Marañon.

For the first time in eight years, high school learners are now included in this meaningful initiative — a testament that every learner, from Kindergarten to Senior High School, deserves support in pursuing their dreams.

Our junior high school learners received tumblers and paper, not only as learning tools but also as a shared commitment to environmental responsibility in support of the City’s 𝘕𝘰 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘜𝘴𝘦 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘖𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦. Meanwhile, our senior high school learners received scientific calculators, essential tools that will strengthen learning and prepare them for greater academic challenges ahead.

These may seem like simple provisions, but for many learners and families, they are meaningful reminders that their community believes in them, supports them, and walks with them in their journey.

Our heartfelt gratitude to our local leaders for continuously investing in education and ensuring that every Sagaynon learner is equipped, empowered, and inspired to succeed.
