THE LIBRARY
GUIDELINES AND POLICIES ON THE USE OF THE LIBRARY
Introduction
The library is a venue for intellectual ability. It is open for the use of the students and the school personnel subject to Rules and Regulations.
All the books in the library are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System. Books can be searched thru its system called Information Library System.

I. GENERAL RULES
1. Every student is required to have a borrower’s card. The card is given free of charge. The student supplies the librarian with a recent 1x1 ID picture. The card will be used every time a library material is checkout for a student to enter the library to use its resources. The student pays P100.00 for the replacement of the borrower’s card
2. A student who does not have a borrower’s card will not be allowed to borrow library material. He will not be also allowed to enter the library except during scheduled library periods that are reserved by a subject teacher for library work.
3. Books can only borrow inside the library either for studying or for photocopying.
4. Strictly NO borrowing of Library Card. These are to make sure that all students have their own.
II. CONTROL PROCEDURE
1. Library Orientation is given free during the first two meeting of the class library period.
2. Bags, folders, brown envelops, umbrellas, books,(ex. Workbook. Textbooks, novels, etc.) which are not owned by the CWSC Library and mobile phones are not allowed inside the library.
3. Upon inside the library, users must write their names on the users catalog. Upon leaving, they must submit borrowed book for inspection.
III. CIRCULATION POLICIES
1. General references like encyclopedias, almanacs, yearbooks, dictionaries, atlases, reserved books, magazines, journals, and newspaper cannot be brought outside the library by any student for overnight use except photocopying which is only allowed for thirty minutes.
2. A student can borrow a minimum of three books at a time.
3. Fiction books can be borrowed for a period of week.
4. Loaning of fiction books is temporarily suspended 2 days before examination.
5. Upon returning the date due slip of any borrowed book, except general reference books must be duly signed by the Library assistant.
6. Any borrowed book maybe renewed unless another requires it use.
7. If a borrower losses books, he must immediately report to the Librarian to allow a searched period. If finally declared lost, the books must be replace with the same title and author preferably its latest edition. Otherwise the student must pay an equivalent 150% of the book to cover the actual and processing cost of the book.
8. Information file, materials maybe borrowed for research the library. (These include clipped articles, pamphlets and leaflets which are found in vertical file.
IV. DISCIPLINE
1. Student with unreturned boos or unpaid fines will not allowed to check out any library materials until he settles his obligation. Fines rates overdue books and other materials are as follows.

A. Fiction or Reference Books P 100.00/day
B. General Reference (Photocopying) P 100.00/day
2. Notice of overdue fiction books (and journals/ periodicals for faculty and staff) will be sent to the borrower two weeks after the first one. If the borrower cannot return the book after the second notice, he will be given two weeks search period it is considered lost.
3. Names of delinquent borrowers will be posted in the bulletin board.
4. Willful mutilation of library property will be subject to disciplinary sanction as provided in the CWSC handbook.
5. Students who are not wearing the prescribe uniform in class will not allowed to enter the library. On Saturday, wearing of inappropriate attire (as defined in school rules and regulation) is prohibited.
6. SILENCE must be properly observed. Students who make unnecessary noise will be warned verbally reprimanded or be subjected to disciplinary sanction as provided in the CWSC student’s handbook.
7. Smoking and eating inside the library is strictly prohibited.
