A day filled with learning, inspiration, recognition, and celebration! 💚💙

The Municipality of Sta. Rita, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), successfully celebrated Child Development Workers Day 2026 and 48th National Disability Rights with meaningful activities that empowered and honored our dedicated Child Development Workers.

📌Learning Session participated by CHILD DEVELOPMENT TEACHERS/WORKERS AND BARANGAY HEALTH WORKERS.

✅ Learning Session on R.A. No. 12199 (ECCD System Act) by ECCD Focal Person, MARIA TERESSA TIU-FLORES

✅ Lecture on Early Detection and Early Intervention for Infants and Toddlers by Ralp Patt Christian Y. Tizon,OTRP

🌿🥗 2026 Nutrition Month Celebration 🥗🌿

The Local Government Unit of Sta. Rita, under the leadership of our ever-supportive Municipal Mayor, Hon. Jascha Mae R. Tiu, successfully celebrated Nutrition Month 2026 with the theme:

“Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan! Strengthening the Link Between Nutrition and Environmental Protection, with a Focus on Climate Action.”

This meaningful celebration was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Sta.Rita Rural Health Unit (RHU), the Child Development Centers (CDCs) of Sta. Rita, dedicated Child Development Teachers/Workers, our enthusiastic preschoolers, and the unwavering support of parents.

Together, we continue to promote healthy eating habits, environmental responsibility, and the importance of nurturing every child’s growth and well-being. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this celebration a success!

✨ 48th National Disability Rights Week Celebration ♿💙

The LGU Sta. Rita proudly celebrates the 48th National Disability Rights Week, reaffirming our commitment to promoting inclusivity, equality, and empowerment for all Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The program officially opened with an inspiring message from Hon. Joel Ybañez-SB Member, followed by an informative Orientation on PWD Rights and Privileges in the Philippines conducted by Jhona Faye F. Viñas, PWD Focal Person.

The celebration continued with the much-awaited Sta. Rita PWD Got Talents, showcasing the amazing skills, confidence, and creativity of our PWD community,proving that ability shines brighter than disability. 🌟🎤💃

As part of the 48th National Disability Rights Week Celebration, the LGU Sta. Rita, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Jascha Mae R. Tiu, distributed rice assistance to our Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The distribution of rice assistance to our Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) was made possible through the generosity and initiative of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Jascha Mae R. Tiu. This meaningful gesture reflects her genuine concern and unwavering commitment to improving the lives and well-being of every member of the community, especially our PWD sector.

The event concluded with a heartfelt closing message from Lie Patula-PDAO, reminding everyone of our shared responsibility to build a more inclusive and accessible community.

The MSWDO provides technical assistance to Brgy. Magsaysay & San Pedro BCPC to create an account in the Juvenile Justice Management Information System (JJMIS). All 38 brgys will be assisted to create their own JJMIS accounts.

BCPC representative from these brgys were capacitated on the proper recording, reporting, and referral of CAR and CICL cases using the JJMIS, promoting a more coordinated, data-driven, and evidence-based approach in advancing juvenile justice and child protection efforts in the province.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) staff, as members of the Municipal Mental Health Core Team, participated in the three-day Psychological First Aid (PFA) training conducted by the LGU in partnership with the Samar State University (SSU) Extension Program.

The training enhanced the participants' knowledge and skills in providing immediate emotional and psychosocial support to individuals experiencing distress during crises, emergencies, and other challenging situations. It also strengthened the Municipal Mental Health Core Team's capacity to respond effectively, promote resilience, and ensure appropriate referral and support for community members in need of mental health and psychosocial services.

Conducted monitoring visits to the Child Development Centers (CDCs) and Child Development Workers (CDWs) in the barangays to assess program implementation, provide technical assistance, and ensure the continuous delivery of quality Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) services.

This activity was conducted in close collaboration with the Barangay Officials, headed by the Barangay Chairperson, whose unwavering support and commitment play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and child-friendly environment for every learner.

Through the strong partnership between Local Government Unit of Sta. Rita thru MSWDO, Child Development Workers, and our Barangay Local Government Units, we continue to work hand in hand in building brighter futures for our children and stronger communities.
