Strengthening Disaster Preparedness through Simulation Exercises

As part of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026 activities, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Paranas conducted a series of simulation exercises in different barangays focusing on the municipality’s top 2 identified hazards.

Through continuous training and collaboration, we strengthen our commitment toward a safer, more prepared, and disaster-resilient Paranas.

The Samar composite team, composed of responders from the Municipalities of Paranas, San Jorge, Motiong, Calbiga, Jiabong, and San Jose de Buan, emerged as champion in the Boat Slalom (King of the Sea) Advance Challenge at the recently concluded 2026 Regional Rescue Jamboree.
