π‹πŽπŽπŠ: In support of the continuing call for voluntary blood donation, personnel of Coast Guard Station Oriental Mindoro and Coast Guard Sub-Station Roxas, together with the 505th Squadron, participated in the Bloodletting Activity held at the Municipal Gymnasium, Barangay Poblacion, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro today 04 September 2026

In partnership with the Local Government Unit of Bongabong, the activity aimed to encourage more individuals to become voluntary blood donors and help ensure that a safe and adequate supply of blood is available for patients who may need it.

The participation of the Coast Guard personnel highlights their commitment to humanitarian service and community involvement. By giving a part of themselves to help others, they continue to uphold the true meaning of malasakit, bayanihan, and selfless public service.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Strengthening Physical Fitness and Operational Readiness

Coast Guard Station Oriental Mindoro, together with its Sub-Stations, successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for its personnel.

The activity consisted of a 3.2-kilometer run, sit-and-reach, push-ups, and sit-ups, which assessed the personnel’s cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance.

The PFT serves as part of the continuing effort of the Station to maintain the physical fitness and readiness of its personnel. Being physically fit is essential in performing various Coast Guard duties, particularly in maritime safety and security, search and rescue, law enforcement, disaster response, and other operational activities.

Through regular physical fitness activities, Coast Guard personnel are encouraged to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle while ensuring that they are physically prepared to respond effectively whenever their services are needed.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Coast Guard Station Oriental Mindoro, together with its Sub-Stations and its different operational units, including the Maritime Safety Services Unit (MSSU-ORMIN), Marine Environmental Protection Unit (MEPU-ORMIN), K9 Unit-ORMIN, Special Operations Unit (SOU-ORMIN), as well as partner agencies such as the Maritime Police and Port Security personnel, joins the observance of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026 this 01 September 2026.

The observance is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 316, s. 2017, with this year’s theme, β€œKarapatan sa Karagatan, Sama-sama Nating Alagaan.”

The month-long observance aims to strengthen public awareness of the importance of the country’s maritime domain, including the protection and preservation of marine resources, maritime safety and security, and the promotion of responsible use of our seas.

As an archipelagic nation, the Philippines relies heavily on its seas for livelihood, transportation, trade, tourism, and other economic activities. Recognizing the vital role of the maritime domain, the Philippine Coast Guard remains committed to safeguarding the country’s waters, protecting the marine environment, ensuring maritime safety and security, and promoting responsible maritime practices.

Through the collective efforts of its personnel and in coordination with partner agencies, stakeholders, and coastal communities, the Coast Guard continues to uphold its mandate in protecting our maritime domain and promoting awareness of our rights and responsibilities at sea.

π“πˆππ†ππ€π: Patuloy ang information dissemination ng Coast Guard Station Oriental Mindoro at mga Sub-Stations nito kaugnay ng Southwest Monsoon (HABAGAT).

Namahagi ang mga tauhan ng flyers na naglalaman ng mga paalala sa kaligtasan para sa publiko, partikular sa mga biyahero at mga gumagamit ng karagatan.

Layunin nito na maipabatid sa publiko ang mga kinakailangang pag-iingat ngayong panahon ng habagat at mahikayat ang lahat na maging alerto sa mga pagbabago sa lagay ng panahon at kondisyon ng dagat.

Pinapayuhan ang publiko na manatiling updated sa mga weather advisories, makinig sa mga abiso ng awtoridad, at laging unahin ang kaligtasan sa lahat ng pagkakataon.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: In anticipation of the possible effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), Coast Guard Station Oriental Mindoro, together with its Sub-Stations, has placed its Disaster Response Group (DRG) Teams on red alert.

The DRG Teams are on standby for possible deployment in areas that may be affected by heavy rains, strong winds, flooding, and rough sea conditions. Coast Guard personnel continue to monitor the weather and sea conditions within their respective areas of responsibility.

Coordination with concerned local government units, disaster response offices, and other partner agencies is also being maintained to ensure a prompt response should assistance be needed.

The Coast Guard reminds the public, particularly those in coastal communities and maritime stakeholders, to remain vigilant and regularly check official weather advisories before engaging in any maritime activity.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Coast Guard Station Oriental Mindoro (CGS ORMIN), together with the Coast Guard Sub-Station Calapan (CGSS Calapan), 505th Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron, and 517th Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron, conducted a coastal clean-up activity at Brgy. Lazareto, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

The activity aimed to promote environmental protection, maintain the cleanliness of coastal areas, and encourage community awareness on the proper disposal of solid waste, particularly in areas frequented by coastal communities and maritime stakeholders.

During the activity, the participating personnel collected various types of waste materials along the shoreline, including plastic bottles, paper cups, fishing lines, and other plastic waste. The collected debris amounted to approximately three (3) sacks of solid waste.

The activity demonstrates the commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard and its Auxiliary partners to protecting the marine environment and supporting initiatives that promote clean, safe, and sustainable coastal communities in Oriental Mindoro.

Nakibahagi ang Coast Guard Station Oriental Mindoro (CGS ORMIN), MSSU-ORMIN, at mga miyembro ng 505th at 517th Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadrons sa repacking ng relief goods sa IT Park Building, Brgy. Sta. Isabel, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

Katuwang ang PDRRMO Oriental Mindoro, PSWDO, PNP, at BFP, matagumpay na nakapag-repack ang mga participating personnel ng kabuuang 2,574 relief packs na nakalaan para sa mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Ang aktibidad ay nagpapakita ng patuloy na bayanihan at inter-agency cooperation sa pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng mga apektadong komunidad.
