📍 2026 FIELD OFFICE NSRP & LMI ASSESSMENT AND PRESENTATION

In line with the directives of DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to strengthen the implementation of labor and employment programs, promote stronger partnerships, and ensure measurable and meaningful results for workers and communities, the DOLE La Union Field Office conducted the 2026 Field Office NSRP & LMI Assessment and Presentation on the CDSP 5-Point Agenda.

The gathering brought together PESO Managers, and Job Placement Officers of La Union, to assess the implementation and performance of the National Skills Registration Program (NSRP) and Labor Market Information (LMI) while discussing key issues, concerns, good practices, and ways forward in strengthening employment services across the province.

The activity was led by Ms. Bernadette May M. Mamitag, Supervising LEO/Caretaker, DOLE La Union, together with Engr. Celine Joy B. Duclayan, LEO III/GIP Focal Person, who presented the statistical performance on LMI and NSRP.

Through continuous assessment, collaboration, and strengthened coordination, LUPA remains committed to working hand in hand with DOLE and its partners in advancing responsive, accessible, and effective employment services for the people of La Union.

𝐋𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐄𝐒𝐎 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! 💼🤝

Proudly representing the Province of La Union, our PESO Managers who serve as officers of the Region 1 PESO Federation participated in the Special Meeting of PESO Federation Officers for CY 2026, held on July 29–30, 2026, in San Juan, La Union.

In support of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the direction set by DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino toward strengthened employment facilitation and responsive labor and employment services, the meeting reinforced the important partnership between DOLE and the Public Employment Service Offices at the local level.

This shared direction was echoed by DOLE Regional Director Honorina Dian-Baga, who emphasized the vital role of PESOs in ensuring that employment opportunities and government programs reach workers and jobseekers in their respective communities. Together with Region 1 PESO Federation President Shey Pia G. Abaya, the federation officers strengthened their collective commitment to collaboration, responsive service, and a unified PESO network across the region.

Discussions covered key matters affecting PESO operations, including CBL amendments, PESOMAP updates, SIKAT PESO Awards criteria, Alien Employment Permit updates, DILP and TUPAD implementation, General Labor Standards and Occupational Safety and Health, OPCR indicators, financial matters, and upcoming PESO activities.

The participation of our La Union PESO leaders reflects our shared commitment to stronger collaboration, responsive employment services, and better opportunities for workers and jobseekers—not only in La Union, but across Region 1.

📍 Strengthening Youth Employment Programs in La Union

The PESO Managers of La Union participated in the Youth Employability Program (YEP) Capacity Development conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment – La Union Field Office (DOLE-LUFO) today, July 27, 2026, at J&V Hotel and Resort, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The activity focused on strengthening the implementation of key youth employment programs, including the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), Government Internship Program (GIP), and JobStart Philippines Program, equipping PESO Managers with updated knowledge and strategies to better serve young jobseekers in their respective communities.

Through stronger coordination between DOLE , PESOs and Employers we continue working toward more accessible employment opportunities and a more prepared, skilled, and work-ready youth.
