𝗡𝗖𝗦𝗖 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗰 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗖𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The NCSC RO1 personnel Michael Angelo R. Catungal (PDO III) and Maureen S. Dela Cruz (PDO II) paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Municipal Mayor of Badoc, in connection with the cash gift distribution under the Expanded Centenarians Act (ECA) for senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old.

The visit served as an opportunity to discuss ways to further strengthen the delivery of cash gift assistance to senior citizens in the municipality.

Naganap ang cash gift distribution sa Pinili, Ilocos Norte na pinangunahan ni Mr. Winson Oliver Sibayan (PDO I) mula sa NCSC Regional Office I, upang matiyak na matagumpay na naihatid ang Cash Gift sa mga kwalipikadong Octogenarians, Nonagenarians, at Centenarians.

Ito ay patunay na bawat hakbang ng NCSC ay nakaangkla sa malasakit at dedikasyon para sa ating mga nakatatanda.

𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗻

“I am also a senior citizen.”

With these simple words, the Medical Chief of MMMHC, Dr. Maria Lourdes K. Otayza, shared something deeply personal and profoundly meaningful. She understands that growing older comes with its own challenges, and she knows firsthand how important it is to care for one’s health before illness becomes a burden.

This is the heart behind the Geriatric Wellness Caravan.

For her, "prevention is better than cure". She believes that our senior citizens deserve more than treatment when they are already sick. They deserve opportunities to stay healthy, active, informed, and empowered to take care of themselves.

Through this initiative, healthcare is brought closer to our elderly, creating a space where they can be listened to, cared for, and reminded that their health and well-being truly matter.

Her leadership carries a message that goes beyond medicine: "caring for our seniors is caring for the people who have spent a lifetime caring for others."

The Geriatric Wellness Caravan is therefore more than a healthcare program. It is an act of compassion, a commitment to prevention, and a heartfelt tribute to our senior citizens.

Because sometimes, the most powerful medicine is not found in a prescription, it is found in someone who understands, cares, and chooses to be there.

And in Batac, one Medical Chief who knows what it means to grow older is choosing to make sure that our seniors grow older, healthier, stronger, and with dignity.

Alongside this commitment is Ms. Marinett Cabading, OIC-MSWD, whose support and dedication to the welfare of our senior citizens help strengthen initiatives that bring meaningful care and services closer to them.

13 Agosto 2026 — Kapag pinagsama ang malasakit, serbisyo, at pagkakaisa, mas maraming buhay ang maaaring maabot at mapabuti.

Nagtipon ang National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), at Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) upang talakayin ang mga posibleng Caravan of Services at mga programang magkatuwang na maghahatid ng serbisyo at oportunidad sa mga senior citizens.

Sa talakayan, binigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng pagsasama-sama ng mga ahensya upang mailapit sa mga nakatatanda ang mga serbisyong makatutugon hindi lamang sa kanilang pangangailangan, kundi maging sa kanilang kakayahang manatiling aktibo at produktibo sa komunidad.

Higit pa sa isang partnership, layunin ng kolaborasyon na ipakita na ang senior citizen ay hindi lamang tatanggap ng serbisyo, maaari rin silang maging katuwang sa pag-unlad.

Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagkilos ng NCSC, PCC, at DAR, muling pinatutunayan na kapag ang mga ahensya ay nagkaisa, mas lumalawak ang serbisyo, mas lumalapit ang oportunidad, at mas maraming nakatatanda ang nabibigyan ng pag-asa.

Serbisyo na may puso, pakikipagtulungan na may layunin, at para sa senior citizens na patuloy na mahalaga sa bawat komunidad. Dahil ang puso sa Seniors ay serbisyo para sa bayan.

17 August 2026 — A home is more than four walls and a roof; it is a place where dignity, security, and memories are built.

With this shared vision, the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) met with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Engr. Eleador F. Balgos and Mr. Herald Alinao to discuss possible collaboration on housing concerns and homeowners’ associations affecting senior citizens.

The meeting highlighted the importance of ensuring that older persons are not left behind in discussions on housing, community development, and secure living environments. Concerns involving homeowners’ associations, access to housing programs, and the needs of senior residents were among the areas explored for stronger coordination.

Beyond providing shelter, the agencies emphasized the need to promote safe, accessible, inclusive, and senior-friendly communities where older persons can live with dignity and peace of mind.

The meeting marks another step toward building partnerships that recognize a simple but powerful truth: every senior citizen deserves not only a house to live in, but a community where they feel they truly belong.

Together, NCSC and DHSUD aim to turn housing into more than a structure and into a home where every older Filipino can live safely, securely, and with dignity.

LAOAG CITY, ILOCOS NORTE — Sa diwa ng malasakit, pagkakaisa, at sama-samang pagkilos para sa kapakanan ng mga nakatatanda, isinagawa ang isang mahalagang pagpupulong kasama ang Committee on Senior Citizens & Non - Government Organizations, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) ng Ilocos Norte, Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), at Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FSCAP) President.

Layunin ng pagpupulong na talakayin at tugunan ang mga isyu, pangangailangan, at concerns na kinakaharap ng mga senior citizens sa lalawigan, habang sabay na inihahanda ang mga makabuluhang gawain para sa nalalapit na Elderly Filipino Week Celebration.

Higit pa sa isang simpleng pagpupulong, naging pagkakataon ito upang marinig ang tinig ng mga nakatatanda: ang kanilang mga pangangailangan, suhestiyon, at mga hamon na dapat tugunan ng mga kinauukulang opisina.

Kabilang sa pagpupulong ay ang mga sumussunod na lider at opisyal:

Sa bawat usapin na tinalakay, malinaw ang iisang layunin: ang senior citizen ay hindi lamang benepisyaryo ng programa, kundi katuwang sa pagbuo ng mas inklusibo at makataong lipunan.

Mahalaga ang ugnayan ng PSWDO, OSCA, FSCAP, at iba pang stakeholders upang masigurong ang mga programa at serbisyo ay tunay na nakararating sa mga nakatatanda at tumutugon sa kanilang aktuwal na pangangailangan.

Kasabay nito, naging bahagi rin ng talakayan ang paghahanda para sa Elderly Filipino Week. Ito ay isang pagdiriwang na hindi lamang nagbibigay-pugay sa edad at karanasan, kundi kumikilala sa mahalagang ambag ng mga senior citizens sa kanilang pamilya, komunidad, at lipunan.

Sa kanilang mga kuwento, karanasan, at patuloy na paglilingkod, ipinapaalala ng mga nakatatanda na ang pagtanda ay hindi pagtatapos ng pagiging kapaki-pakinabang. Sa halip, ito ay panibagong yugto kung saan maaari pa ring magbahagi, makilahok, maglingkod, at maging inspirasyon sa susunod na henerasyon.

Sa pagkakaisa ng mga ahensya at organisasyon, umaasa ang Ilocos Norte na ang bawat senior citizen ay mararamdaman na sila ay naririnig, pinahahalagahan, at hindi kailanman nakakalimutan.

Dahil ang tunay na pagdiriwang ng Elderly Filipino Week ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa mga programa at selebrasyon, kundi sa patuloy na pagkilos upang matiyak na ang bawat nakatatanda ay nabubuhay ng may dignidad, seguridad, respeto, at pagmamahal.

Sa serbisyo at pagkakaisa, sama-samang itinataguyod ang isang Ilocos Norte kung saan walang senior citizen ang maiiwan.

11–12 August 2026 — Personnel of the National Commission of Senior Citizens – Regional Office I (NCSC RO1) participated in a Two-Day Online Learning Session with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) aimed at strengthening their knowledge and understanding of key human resource management policies and civil service regulations.

The NCSC RO1 participants included Regional Director Atty. Glaiza Bernadeth P. Pinto-Tadeo; Mr. Immanuel C. Quiban, Project Development Officer IV; Dr. Ma. Elyza Gracilda R. Ponciano, Administrative Officer V; Ms. Karen Q. Torcuato, Administrative Officer IV; and Ms. Angelica Joy U. Calonge, Administrative Assistant III.

The learning session covered three key topics. Mr. Manuel D.V. Castillo Jr., Senior Human Resource Specialist of CSC FO-OP, discussed the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) and Omnibus Rules on Appointments and Other Human Resource Actions (ORAOHRA).

Meanwhile, Ms. Gladys Grace B. Rivera, Senior Human Resource Specialist of CSC FO-OP, discussed Republic Act No. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, emphasizing the importance of ethical conduct, professionalism, and accountability in public service.

The session also featured Atty. Clifford C. Chan, Acting Director II of CSC FO-OP, who discussed the 2025 Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service (RACCS), providing participants with essential knowledge on administrative procedures and accountability within the civil service.

The two-day learning session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of human resource policies and civil service regulations, promoting effective performance management, merit-based and responsive human resource practices, ethical conduct, and administrative accountability.

Through continuous learning and professional development, NCSC RO1 strengthens the capacity of its personnel to uphold the principles of integrity, efficiency, and excellence in public service, ultimately contributing to more effective and responsive delivery of programs and services for senior citizens in Region I.
