π Oil Spill Awareness and Emergency Response Training Successfully Conducted in Burgos, Ilocos Norte π’
Strengthening environmental protection through collaboration and preparedness!
The Marine Environmental Protection Group β North Western Luzon (MEPG-NWLZN) together with Marine Science Forensic and Investigation Unit- Northwestern Luzon, spearheaded by the Commander, MEPG-NWLZN in coordination with the Coast Guard Station Ilocos Norte and Coast Guard Sub-Station Burgos, successfully conducted an Oil Spill Awareness and Emergency Response Training for the community members and personnel of LGU Burgos, Ilocos Norte.
The training enhanced participants' knowledge of oil spill prevention, preparedness, response procedures, and inter-agency coordination to ensure the protection of the marine environment from pollution incidents. Through lectures and practical discussions, participants gained valuable insights into their respective roles and responsibilities during oil spill emergencies.
This activity reflects the Philippine Coast Guard's continuing commitment to building resilient coastal communities and strengthening partnerships with local government agencies in safeguarding our marine environment.
