On July 13, 2026, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Central Luzon officially opened the DOST SINAG Virtual Center Integration Training for DOST Cagayan Valley.

Following the adoption of the DOST-SINAG program in March 2025 through the Province of Cagayan, this four-day capacity-building activity aims to equip DOST Cagayan Valley personnel with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively utilize and maximize the SINAG Virtual Center. The training is being conducted under the guidance and supervision of DOST Central Luzon.

Through a series of lectures, workshops, and hands-on sessions, participants will deepen their understanding of the SINAG platform and its applications in agriculture, climate information, and decision support. The initiative seeks to further strengthen digital support systems for farmers, local government units, and communities across the region.

As the training officially begins, DOST continues to advance innovation and collaboration among regional offices, reinforcing its commitment to building resilient communities and promoting sustainable regional development through science, technology, and innovation.

The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), led by Senior Vice President Segundo H. Guerrero, met with the DOST Central Luzon SINAG/SARAI Team for a consultation meeting on the SARAI Project under the Smart and Innovative Agriculture (SINAG) Program on July 2, 2026 at DOST Central Luzon. Welcomed by Engr. Romeolito G. Tacbian, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations and SARAI CeNTRO Regional Focal Person, and Engr. Bryan M. Baltazar, Science and Technology Fellow I and SARAI CeNTRO Alternate Regional Focal Person, also joining the meeting via Zoom were Prof. Moises Dorado, Project Leader of SARAI CeNTRO, and Ms. Maria Regina V. Regalado, Project Technical Officer of SARAI CeNTRO. The discussion highlighted the capabilities of the SINAG Virtual Hub, including its Remote Sensing, Climate Information, Agriculture Information, Market Information Systems, and the Smart Integrated Learning for Agricultural Intelligence (SILAI).

The consultation opened opportunities to explore how these science-based digital agriculture technologies can support evidence-based decision-making, strengthen agricultural risk management, and enhance services for Filipino farmers. Through sustained collaboration, DOST Central Luzon and PCIC continue to advance innovative solutions that contribute to a smarter, more climate-resilient, and sustainable agricultural sector.
