π‹πŽπŽπŠ: In consonance to the marching order of the Commander Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao Commodore Jaybom J Calica PCG, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG promptly undertook significant measures in preparation for the possible effects of Super Typhoon β€œInday” with international name "Bavi" which associated with Southwest Monsoon affecting the country.

Deployable Response Groups (DRG) within the jurisdiction of Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte were instantly activated and all units were placed in a heightened alert status in order to ensure maximum personnel readiness for possible response operations.

Thereafter, CGS SDN Sub-Stations simultaneously distributed flyers dubbed as β€œMga Paalala sa mga Mangingisda sa Panahon ng Bagyo” to disseminate information with regard to the prevailing weather disturbance.

Likewise, simultaneous patrol operations at the shoreline of respective areas of responsibility were conducted by the Station’s sub-units purposely to likewise disseminate to the coastal residents and fisherfolks the prevailing weather disturbance.

Further, all units within the Station were directed to conduct close coordination with their respective Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) offices for possible augmentation and deployment.

As of this press time, all units under the Station are continuously monitoring updates from the official page of PAGASA and continuously conducting actual assessments of weather and sea conditions within their respective areas of responsibility. Additionally, A Coast Guard Public Advisory was issued to all maritime stakeholders to raise awareness on the prevailing weather disturbance, promote safety preparedness, and advise the public to exercise necessary precautionary measures while at sea.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Orillaneda PCG urged the general populace to be extra vigilant at all times and strictly adhere to the advisories of the competent authorities in order to avoid occurrence of any maritime related incidents.

Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II welcomed newly designated Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao Commander Commodore Jaybom J. Calica, PCG, during a courtesy call at the City Mayor's Office today, July 6, 2026.

Among the matters discussed were the proposed establishment of a Coast Guard Station and District Office in Surigao City, along with initiatives to improve maritime safety, environmental protection, and the prevention of oil spills from vessels that may affect the city's marine environment and coastal resources.

Joining the meeting were PCG Surigao del Norte Station Commander LTJG Roy Christopher R. Orillaneda, City Legal Officer Atty. Ronel Ubod, City Environment and Natural Resources Officer Engr. Jose Alfonso A. Casurra, City Budget Officer Atty. Jeffrey Galido, and other Philippine Coast Guard officers.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard and the City Government of Surigao to strengthen cooperation in promoting the safety, security, and welfare of coastal communities.

The City Government of Surigao remains committed to working closely with national government agencies in advancing maritime safety, protecting the environment, and delivering quality public service for every Surigaonon.

The Coast Guard Station MalacaΓ±ang adopts the 3Ps -- Pre-Emptive, Preventive, and Proactive -- to strengthen typhoon preparedness and response in anticipation of Super Typhoon .

This operational approach is anchored on the Philippine Coast Guard's (PCG) Intensified Community assistance Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) program that prioritizes the protection of lives, prevention of maritime incidents, safeguarding of critical assets, and coordinated emergency response before, during, and after the typhoon.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: The Coast Guard Sub-Station Tagana-an led by Petty Officer First Class Rolante B Ramos PCG under the direct supervision of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG successfully conducted a Coastal Clean-Up Activity held at Manggahan Beach, Brgy. Ban-ban, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte today, 05 June 2026.

The activity was organized and spearheaded by CGSS Tagana-an in collaboration with community volunteers, embodying the spirit of Bayanihan and emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and protecting the environment.

Through this simple yet meaningful initiative, the community was reminded that environmental stewardship is a shared responsibility wherein collective efforts play a vital role in preventing pollution, promoting public health and preserving a safe, clean and sustainable environment for present and future generations.

The initiative was conducted in support to the Intensified Community-Assistance, Awareness, Response and Enforcement (iCARE) Program of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) highlighting the importance of shared responsibility and active community involvement in promoting sustainable environmental stewardship and a healthier community for present and future generations.

A total of six (6) sacks of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste materials were successfully collected during the abovementioned activity.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: The Coast Guard Sub-station Malimono led by Petty Officer Second Class Junfrie D Doquila PCG under the direct supervision of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG successfully conducted the Coastal Clean-Up Drive held at Brgy. Tinago, Malimono, Surigao del Norte today, 04 June 2026.

The said activity was organized and spearheaded by the CGSS Malimono personnel highlighting the vital role to promote environmental awareness, marine conservation and social responsibility among the residents of Brgy. Tinago.

PCG-SDN worked hand in hand in collecting and properly segregating waste materials along the shoreline, helping to prevent marine pollution and protect the coastal and marine ecosystems emphasizing the importance of discipline, teamwork and active participation in safeguarding our seas.

The initiative was conducted in support to the Intensified Community Awareness, Assistance, Response and Enforcement (iCARE) Program of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) highlighting the importance of shared responsibility and active community involvement in promoting sustainable environmental stewardship and a healthier marine environment for present and future generations.
