SAN JORGE MOVES FORWARD: CDP SECTORAL WORKSHOP AND CONSULTATION FOR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SECTORS

Planning for the future of San Jorge continues as the Local Government Unit of San Jorge conducted the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) Sectoral Workshop and Consultation for the Social and Economic Sectors.

The activity brought together representatives from the municipality’s social and economic sectors, national government agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs), and other stakeholders to present, discuss, and validate the outputs of each subsector.

During the workshop, the different subsectors presented their identified Local Development Investment Indicators (LDIs) and proposed Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) laying out priority interventions that respond to the municipality’s present needs while supporting its long-term development goals.

More than just a planning activity, the consultation provided a venue for different sectors and stakeholders to share their insights, recommendations, and experiences, ensuring that the municipality’s development plans are participatory, inclusive, and grounded on the actual needs of the community.

With the continued support of Mayor Hon. Leoncio U. De Guia, Vice Mayor Hon. Jay Bisnar, the Sangguniang Bayan, and other elected officials, together with the municipal offices and partner agencies and organizations, San Jorge continues to strengthen its collective efforts toward meaningful and sustainable local development.

SAN JORGE SHOWCASES LOCAL AGRI PRODUCTS AT SAMAR AGRI-TRADE FAIR

The Municipality of San Jorge, through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) headed by Municipal Agriculturist Jason Fabillar, proudly participated in the Samar Agri-Trade Fair, joining municipalities from across the Province of Samar in showcasing the municipality's quality agricultural products and the dedication of San Jorgenhon farmers and producers.

The municipality's participation reflects the continued commitment of the local government under the leadership of Mayor Hon. Leoncio U. De Guia, together with Vice Mayor Hon. Jay Bisnar, the Sangguniang Bayan Members, and other municipal officials, in advancing agricultural development, supporting local farmers, and creating greater opportunities for locally produced goods.

The Agri-Trade Fair served as a valuable platform for participating local government units to promote agricultural products, strengthen partnerships, and celebrate the richness and potential of Samar's agriculture sector.

The Local Government Unit of San Jorge, in partnership with the Department of Health Region VIII, Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Provincial Health Office–Samar, and Northwest Samar State University (NWSSU), invites all residents aged 15 years old and above to avail of a FREE Chest X-Ray as part of the "TB-Free Samar" campaign.

To ensure compliance with existing local ordinances, regulatory standards, and public safety requirements, the Municipal Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), together with the Municipal Engineering Office, MENRO, Municipal Treasurer's Office, and the Philippine National Police (PNP), conducted a joint inspection of business establishments within the municipality.

The activity aims to promote responsible business operations, safeguard public welfare, and encourage full compliance with licensing, environmental, structural, and safety regulations.

📍 LGU San Jorge Successfully Conducts Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) Updating Workshop

The Local Government Unit of San Jorge successfully concluded its Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) Updating Workshop, a significant step toward crafting a responsive and forward-looking development agenda for the municipality.

The workshop gathered the Local Development Council, department heads, technical working groups, and sectoral representatives to review development priorities, assess current conditions, and formulate strategies that will guide San Jorge's future. Conducted under the leadership of Mayor Hon. Leoncio U. De Guia, the activity reflects the LGU's continuing commitment to participatory and evidence-based planning.

While the workshop has formally concluded, the CDP updating process continues as technical teams consolidate workshop outputs, refine sectoral plans, and complete the remaining requirements needed to finalize the municipality's Comprehensive Development Plan.

The LGU extends its gratitude to all participants and stakeholders for their invaluable contributions. Together, we remain committed to building a more resilient, progressive, and people-centered San Jorge through collaborative planning and good governance.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝐃𝐒𝐖𝐃 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬

Qualified octogenarian (80–89 years old) and nonagenarian (90–99 years old) senior citizens of San Jorge received their cash gifts through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), reaffirming the government's commitment to recognizing and supporting the welfare of our elderly.

The payout was successfully facilitated through the collaborative efforts of the DSWD, the Local Government Unit of San Jorge, and the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA). Under the leadership of 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐨 𝐔. 𝐃𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐚, the LGU continues to support programs that uphold the dignity and well-being of every San Jorgenhon, especially our valued senior citizens.
