CLEANLINESS IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY

Demonstrating its commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health, personnel of the San Mateo Municipal Jail–Male Dormitory conducted a clean-up activity aimed at maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment within and around the facility. Through the proper collection and disposal of waste materials, the activity sought to eliminate potential breeding grounds for disease-carrying vectors and help prevent the spread of common illnesses associated with the rainy season, such as dengue, leptospirosis, and other sanitation-related diseases.

This initiative was conducted under the leadership and guidance of JSUPT RALPH JAMES O MAYHAY, Municipal Warden, who continuously promotes programs that foster environmental responsibility, health awareness, and community well-being. The activity highlights the collective effort of personnel in supporting a culture of cleanliness and preparedness, reinforcing the importance of maintaining a healthy environment as a shared responsibility in safeguarding the welfare of both personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs)..

ENHANCING FIRE SAFETY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

The San Mateo Municipal Jail–Male Dormitory successfully conducted a Training on Fire Safety and Fire Suppression Seminar for selected personnel and PDL as part of its continuing efforts to enhance emergency preparedness and promote a culture of safety within the facility. The activity was conducted under the guidance and leadership of JSUPT RALPH JAMES O MAYHAY, Municipal Warden, with the presence and support of SJO4 Agosto V Abas, Deputy Warden. The training was facilitated by FO1 Aljay Dela Torre, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Personnel and Resource Speaker, who shared valuable insights on fire behavior, fire classifications, fire suppression techniques, and the proper use of firefighting equipment.

Through informative lectures and hands-on demonstrations, participants strengthened their knowledge, skills, and confidence in responding effectively to fire emergencies. The training emphasized the importance of vigilance, teamwork, and strict adherence to fire safety protocols in safeguarding lives and property. Through initiatives such as this, the San Mateo Municipal Jail–Male Dormitory remains committed to developing competent, prepared, and resilient personnel capable of responding to emergencies while maintaining a safe, secure, and disaster-resilient environment.

FIRE SAFETY SEMINAR FOR PERSONNEL AND PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

As part of its continuing commitment to promoting safety, preparedness, and disaster resilience within the facility, the San Mateo Municipal Jail Male Dormitory successfully conducted a Fire Safety Seminar for Personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) under the leadership of JSUPT RALPH JAMES O MAYHAY, Municipal Warden. The seminar was facilitated by FO1 Aljay Dela Torre of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), who shared valuable knowledge and insights on fire prevention and emergency preparedness.

During the seminar, FO1 Dela Torre provided a comprehensive discussion on fire prevention, common causes of fire incidents, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of firefighting equipment. Participants were educated on the importance of maintaining vigilance, observing fire safety protocols, and responding appropriately during fire emergencies. The lecture also emphasized the significance of preparedness and teamwork in minimizing risks and ensuring the safety of everyone inside the facility.

Both personnel and PDLs actively participated in the seminar, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing their knowledge and awareness of fire safety measures. The activity served as a valuable platform for strengthening the facility’s culture of safety and preparedness while fostering cooperation between jail personnel and PDLs in promoting a secure and fire-resilient environment. PDL CORNER | Eid al-Adha 2026
𝘈 𝘋𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯

In observance of Eid al-Adha, the Muslim Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of San Mateo Municipal Jail Male Dormitory gathered in prayer and reflection, commemorating one of the most significant occasions in the Islamic faith. The activity provided an opportunity to strengthen spiritual values, foster unity, and deepen their connection with Allah through worship and devotion.

Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder of faith, sacrifice, obedience, and compassion toward others. Through this meaningful observance, the jail continues to support the spiritual well-being of PDLs by promoting religious freedom and encouraging positive values that contribute to personal growth, rehabilitation, and community harmony.

LOOK: ACTS OF KINDNESS, LOAVES OF HOPE

The San Mateo Municipal Jail–Male Dormitory successfully received donated bread from Gardenia Bakeries Philippines – Gardenia Centre, Star Avenue, Laguna, intended for the welfare of the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) under the custody of the facility. The donated bread was properly acknowledged, received, and distributed to the PDLs as part of the jail’s continuing efforts to ensure their well-being, nutrition, and daily sustenance.

The activity highlights the strong partnership and cooperation between the jail facility and its valued stakeholders in promoting humanitarian support and community involvement within the correctional system. Such acts of generosity greatly contribute to the morale and welfare of the PDLs while strengthening programs geared toward compassionate and rehabilitative custody.

RANK INSPECTION OF SAN MATEO MUNICIPAL JAIL – MALE DORMITORY

The San Mateo Municipal Jail – Male Dormitory successfully conducted a Rank Inspection spearheaded by SJO4 Agosto V. Abas, Assistant Warden, as part of the Bureau’s continuing effort to ensure discipline, professionalism, and adherence to standard organizational protocols among its personnel.

The activity aimed to assess the proper implementation of rank insignias, uniform standards, grooming, and overall appearance of custodial personnel in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations of the Bureau. It also served as an avenue to reinforce compliance with proper wearing of uniforms and to promote a sense of unity, pride, and discipline within the institution.

During the inspection, personnel were evaluated on the correctness of rank placement, completeness of uniform accessories, and overall presentation. SJO4 Abas emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of discipline and professionalism at all times, reflecting the integrity and core values of the Bureau.

The activity concluded successfully, with all personnel reminded to continuously uphold proper uniform standards as part of their daily duties and responsibilities in the service of public safety and correctional administration.

Ipinaaalam sa lahat na muling ibabalik ang regular na schedule ng DALAW at PAABOT matapos ang pansamantalang pagpapatupad ng health safety protocols kaugnay ng active cases ng Chickenpox sa loob ng pasilidad.

Pinapayuhan pa rin ang lahat na ipagpatuloy ang pagsunod sa mga umiiral na health and safety measures upang mapanatili ang kaligtasan at kaayusan sa loob ng ating jail facility. Mangyaring ang lahat ng dalaw na gumamit ng Facemask.
