The visit highlighted CGSOF's commitment to strengthening partnerships with key maritime institutions through meaningful discussions on maritime security, leadership development, operational excellence, and future collaborative initiatives. The engagement also provided an opportunity to reinforce institutional ties and promote shared efforts in advancing the country's maritime interests.

๐—œ๐—–๐—ฌ๐— ๐—œ: ๐—–๐—ข๐— ๐— ๐—ข ๐—๐—œ๐— ๐— ๐—ฌ ๐—• ๐—ก๐—”๐—œ๐—ฆ๐—ข๐—— ๐—ฃ๐—–๐—š, Commander, CGSOF, led the Joint Convening Ceremony of the Basic Underwater Special Operations Course (BUSOC) Class 37-2026 and Coast Guard Explosive Ordnance Disposal Course (CGEODC) Class 11-2026 on 22 May 2026 aboard the Special Operations School (SOS), Brgy Pamplona, General Nakar, Quezon Province.

BUSOC CL 37-2026, composed of thirty-eight (38) trainees, includes eight (8) officers and thirty (30) non-officers from the Philippine Coast Guard. The course molds students into competent military divers by focusing on underwater search, recovery, rescue, and special operations. It further develops physical endurance, mental toughness, and mission readiness in support of maritime law enforcement and disaster response operations.

Meanwhile, CGEODC CL 11-2026, composed of eighty-one (81) trainees, includes nineteen (19) personnel from the Philippine Army, six (6) from the Philippine National Police, ten (10) from the Philippine Marine Corps, forty-five (45) from the Philippine Coast Guard, and one (1) from the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. The course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the detection, identification, rendering safe, and disposal of explosive ordnance both on land and underwater.

Also present during the event was ๐—–๐—ข๐— ๐— ๐—ข ๐—๐—ข๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ง๐—ข ๐—” ๐— ๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—จ๐—ฌ๐—ข ๐—ฃ๐—–๐—š, Superintendent, Special Operations School (SOS), who formally welcomed the trainees and emphasized the importance of discipline, resilience, and professionalism as they undergo rigorous and specialized training in preparation for future operational deployments.

The convening ceremony marked the beginning of another challenging journey for the trainees as they strive to uphold the highest standards of excellence, courage, and service in support of the Philippine Coast Guardโ€™s mission.

๐‹๐จ๐จ๐ค: The Coast Guard Special Operations Force (CGSOF), through the Technical Diving Group (TDG), formally conducted the Graduation Ceremony of ๐‚๐จ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐†๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐“๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ฑ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž ๐‚๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ-๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“ composed of ten (10) students led by ๐—Ÿ๐—ง๐—๐—š ๐—ฅ๐—ข๐—ก๐—ก๐—œ๐—˜ ๐—” ๐—›๐—”๐—–๐—›๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—ข ๐—ฃ๐—–๐—š.

The rigorous ten-month course, conducted under the supervision of Dive Instructor ๐—–๐—ฃ๐—ข ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ผ ๐—ง ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ด ๐—๐—ฟ ๐—ฃ๐—–๐—š, the Course Director, and the leadership of ๐—–๐—”๐—ฃ๐—ง ๐—–๐—›๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—ž๐—” ๐—ฅ ๐—๐—”๐— ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—ข๐—Ÿ ๐—ฃ๐—–๐—š, Commander, TDG, developed highly specialized operators capable of performing deep diving and underwater special operations missions.

The course was further tested through actual operational deployments during the Search and Retrieval Operations for the missing Sabungeros in Taal Lake, Batangas, in July 2025, and the operations involving the sunken vessel M/V Trisha Kerstin 3 in Basilan, near Zamboanga City, in January 2026.

Serving as Keynote Speaker, Commander, CGSOF, ๐—–๐—ข๐— ๐— ๐—ข ๐—๐—œ๐— ๐— ๐—ฌ ๐—• ๐—ก๐—”๐—œ๐—ฆ๐—ข๐—— ๐—ฃ๐—–๐—š, emphasized that โ€œthe underwater domain is unforgivingโ€ and that success beneath the surface demands competence, courage, discipline, and absolute trust in one another.

๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž: Today, 11 May 2026, an awarding ceremony was held for SCPO ALDRINE CORDERO PCG at the Agoo Farmers Multi-purpose Building, Brgy. Sta. Barbara, Agoo, La Union, in recognition of his heroic rescue during a drowning incident that transpired at Agoo Eco Park on 02 May 2026 while he was off-duty. The ceremony was presided over by the Municipal Mayor of Agoo, La Union, HON. FRANK O. SIBUMA.

Demonstrating courage, presence of mind, and unwavering commitment to public service, SCPO Cordero immediately responded to the emergency situation and successfully rescued the victim from imminent danger. His selfless actions reflect the true spirit of the Philippine Coast Guard โ€” always ready to serve and protect, even beyond official duty hours.

The recognition serves as a testament to the dedication, bravery, and professionalism of Coast Guard personnel whose actions continue to inspire the community and uphold the highest ideals of honor, service, and humanitarianism.

The Philippine Coast Guard Special Operations Force Dragon Boat Team headed by head coach PO2 FLORENCE A CARO PCG carried out Gratuitous Dragon Boat Experience to โ€œSEA SCOUTSโ€ of the Christian Community Scouting, headed by its Scoutmaster AUX CDR LEWIS LIM PCGA accompanied by AUX CDR VINCENT ONG PCGA together with parents at Manila Bay, April 25, 2026.

Boating activities in Sea Scouting Program is a popular activity, designed to be both educational and fun, helping scouts develop a range of skills, adventure, personal growth and build confidence in water-based environments.

The Coast Guard Dragon Boat Team complements this by providing personal hands on one-on-one training on body conditioning, rowing skills, paddle / breathing techniques to future potential athletes and young leaders.
