To enhance agricultural productivity and promote sustainable farming practices, the Solar Pump Irrigation Project under the Sibalom-San Jose Irrigation System (SSJIS) of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), was officially inaugurated today in Brgy. Barangbang, San Remigio, Antique.
Worth โฑ15 Million, this facility covers a service area of 15 hectares, providing a reliable and eco-friendly water source and it features an AI Satellite-Assisted Monitoring System that analyzes weather, satellite, and water data to give real-time irrigation and fertigation recommendationsโhelping local farmers optimize water usage and boost crop productivity through climate-resilient practices. The project was also made possible through the generous lot donation of Engr. Allen Marfil and Mr. Alex Marfil.
The event was attended by key local and regional officials: Mayor Mar C. Mission Jr., Engr. Bernard N. Castellano, Division Manager A, NIA, Mr. Mars G. Omallao, IA President (Sibalom-San Remigio IA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Staff and local agricultural stakeholders.
In his message, ๐๐๐ฒ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ซ expressed gratitude to National Irrigation Administration for selecting the municipality for this project, while emphasizing the importance of long-term sustainability:
