DILG Siocon, thru MLGOO Adasa, attended the quarterly meeting of the Liga ng mga Barangay (LNB) Siocon Chapter on July 3, 2026 where she presented the Frequently Asked Questions on the implementation of the Bawat Barangay Makikinabang: Presidential Assistance Under Socio Civic Project Funds.

Ms. Normida Abdulmin, MADAC Alternate Focal Person also presented the 2026 IDADAIT celebration. Led by Hon. Khan Esmali, the Punong Barangays took their pledge to support the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

Hon. Jonifer G. Pantaleon, Punong Barangay of Pisawak, Zamboanga del Norte led the Pledge of Commitment before the Association of Barangay Secretaries during the 2026 IDADAIT Celebration. The activity was jointly held with the June 2026 monthly barangay secretaries meeting, which Barangay Pisawak hosted at Zahra Hotel, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte on July 2, 2026.

In his message, Hon. Pantaleon took the chance to extend his gratitude to the barangay secretaries for being the backbone in barangay operations. He likewise expressed his appreciation to DILG Siocon for its continued support and guidance to the barangays.

On the other hand, Ms. Normida Abdulmin, MADAC Alternate Focal Person, gave a brief discussion of the IDADAIT 2026 Celebration focusing on the governmentโ€™s continued campaign against illegal drugs. She also discussed updates on the application for drug-cleared retention of the selected barangays.

Meanwhile, MLGOO Adasa expressed her gratitude to the host barangay and the Association of Barangay Secretaries. She also conducted a brief refresher on the roles of the Barangay Secretaries in the Katarungang Pambarangay and an awarding for the May 2026 Top Performing Barangay Secretaries, as part of the continued implementation of DILG Siocon on the LINK for Barangay Governance.

MLGOO Adasa extended technical assistance during the conduct of the annual information, education and consultation of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) on the implementation of the IPRA Law. The activity was held on June 18, 2026 at Siocon Cultural and Exhibition Center.

She discussed pertinent DILG issuances on the implementation of the Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative, particularly DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2010-119 on the mandatory representation of indigenous cultural communities or indigenous peoples in policy-making bodies and other local legislative councils. She highlighted the importance of the IPโ€™s right to participate at all levels of decision making in matters which may affect their lives and rights.

Together with her are officials from NCIP Liloy District and members of the indigenous communities from the barangays of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
