Puerto Princesa City is taking another step toward smarter, more responsive public service as its 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐬𝐞𝐫-𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 (𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭) is among the 17 proposals approved under the 𝐅𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥.

The Innovation Grants program, supported by the 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟏𝟐𝟗𝟑, 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭, provides support for innovative solutions that address real challenges faced by communities.

For Puerto Princesa, the TRUEFARE Project focuses on improving the way tricycle fares are accessed, understood, and regulated—promoting a transport system that is more 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫-𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 for both commuters and drivers.

This initiative, led by the 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫, reflects the City Government’s continuing commitment to 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 that respond to the everyday needs of Puerto Princesans.

The circular economy is changing the way cities think about waste.. from something to be discarded into a resource that can generate energy.

Puerto Princesa City is preparing for this future.

The City Government has included Circular Economy as a preferred investment area, opening the door for investments that promote resource recovery and waste-to-energy solutions.

Qualified investors in these preferred investment areas may avail of the City's investment incentives, creating an opportunity to pursue both business growth and environmental sustainability.

The future is circular. Puerto Princesa is preparing for it.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure: Sweden turns more than 50% of its household garbage into energy through advanced waste-to-energy (WtE) incineration. Less than 1% of household waste goes to landfills.

The process heats over 1 million homes, provides electricity for hundreds of thousands, while generating 100 million USD annually by importing trash and recycling the waste produced by other countries.

AMORITA RESORT & SPA, PINAGKALOOBAN NG INVESTMENT INCENTIVES NG PAMAHALAANG LUNGSOD NG PUERTO PRINCESA

Sa layuning dumami pa ang responsableng pamumuhunan sa Puerto Princesa para sa mas matatag na ekonomiya at mas maraming oportunidad para sa mga Puerto Princesans, pinagkalooban ng investment incentives ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa ang Amorita Resort and Spa alinsunod sa Puerto Princesa City Investment Code of 2010.

Sa isang maikling seremonya kahapon, ika-10 ng Agosto 2026, iginawad ni Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron ang Certificate of Registration sa Amorita Resort and Spa bilang Preferred Investment Area – Hotel & Resort Category (Large Enterprise). Si Mayor Bayron ang tumatayong Chairman ng Puerto Princesa City Investment Promotions Board.

“I look at this investment as a vote of confidence to the fast-growing economy of Puerto Princesa, kasi ang investor hindi mag-iinvest kung inaakala niyang hindi siya kikita,” pahayag ni Mayor Bayron.

Bahagi ng insentibong mapapakinabangan ng Amorita Resort and Spa ang 100% exemption sa business tax at real estate tax sa lupa na direktang ginagamit sa negosyo, sa unang dalawang taon; 75% tax exemption sa ikatlong taon at 50% tax exemption sa ikaapat at ikalimang taon para sa taxable year 2027 alinsunod sa Section 22 ng City Ordinance 461 o Puerto Princesa City Investment Code of 2010.

“Itong large-scale investment na ito, nakakapag-encourage ng other investors to invest as well in the city of Puerto Princesa,” ani Mayor Bayron.

Ayon pa sa alkalde, ang mga pamumuhunang pumapasok sa lungsod tulad ng Amorita Resorts and Spa ay nangangahulugang dagdag trabaho sa mamamayan at pagyabong pa ng turismo para sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng Puerto Princesa.

“To operate a 5-star hotel, you need a lot of employees. Nasa 77 na empleyado rito ngayon at madaragdagan pa ‘yun pag full-blast na ang operation…,” dagdag pa ni Mayor Bayron.

Pinangunahan ng Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) sa pamumuno ni Development Management Officer IV Lorraine Banzuelo ang maikling programa kung saan nakibahagi si Councilor Erwin L. Edualino at kinatawan ng Palawan Bankers’ Association at Puerto Princesa City Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
