Today, as we raise our flag high here in the Local Government Unit of Omar, we stand united in purpose and patriotism under the leadership of Mayor Abdulbaki J. Ajibon.

This meaningful ceremony is made even more significant by the presence of Vice Mayor, the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, our dedicated municipal staff, the personnel of the MPS-Omar, and the officers and men of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

This gathering is more than just a tradition; it is a renewal of our shared commitment to serve, protect, and develop our beloved municipality. Together, civil servants, peacekeepers, and lawmakers stand as one, honoring the values our flag represents freedom, justice, and progress.

We dedicate this moment and our collective efforts to the people of Omar. Let this flag serve as a constant reminder of our duty to work hand-in-hand toward a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive community for all.

PUBLIC ADVISORY!

This is to inform the public that the Capual National High School – Extension Classes for incoming Grade 7 students will be open for enrollment on June 1–5, 2026.

The extension classes will be located in Sitio Kalubukan, Brgy. Angilan, Omar, Sulu.

A new week of dedicated public service officially commenced this morning as the Local Government Unit of Omar gathered for its regular Monday Flag Ceremony.

The solemn occasion was highly honored by the presence of our proactive and visionary local chief executive, Honorable Mayor Abdulbaki J. Ajibon, alongside the dedicated department heads, municipal officers, and LGU staff.

PCA-Sulu Medical Mission Concludes Successfully in Omar; Various Agencies Unite to Serve Farmers

The second and final day of the medical mission conducted by the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) – Sulu team, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Omar, concluded successfully today.

The activity was made possible through the joint efforts and support of the Bravo Company of the 101st Infantry Battalion, headed by Cpt. Bryan Jay Esteban, BFP LUUK Fire Station led by SFO3 Sedmar H. Harib, and PNP Municipal Police Station led by the new Chief of Police PCpt. Alkheen J. Puddin.

They were joined by the RHU-Omar team, led by Al-ryan P. Gadjala, who attended to the medical needs of the community.

Meanwhile, the MSSD-Omar, headed by Ms. Thessa M. Asakil, RSW, actively participated by distributing relief cooking kits to the registered local farmers of PCA.

Aside from the scheduled beneficiaries, the teams also accommodated and entertained walk-in patients, ensuring that no one was left behind in receiving much-needed health services and assistance.

PCA and LGU Omar Launch 2-Day Medical Mission for Local Farmers

The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Omar, successfully conducted a two-day medical mission dedicated to local farmers in the municipality.

The activity aimed to provide essential health services and support to the farming community, ensuring their well-being as they continue to contribute to the agricultural sector.

Municipal Mayor Hon. Abdulbaki J. Ajibon expressed his sincere gratitude to the PCA for choosing Omar as the venue for this initiative. He emphasized the importance of such programs that directly benefit the farmers, who are considered pillars of the local economy.

This collaboration reflects the commitment of both
agencies to serve the people and improve the quality of life in the community.

Officials from the National Youth Commission (NYC) Region IX and NYC BARMM paid a courtesy visit to the Municipal Mayor of Omar, Hon. ABDULBAKI J. AJIBON.

Leading the delegation were NYC Region IX Cluster Head Mr. Raymond Domingo and NYC BARMM Cluster Head Mr. Mayjee Dela Cruz. They were accompanied by DILG-Sulu Director Emini Kadiri, Provincial Youth Development Officer (PYDO) Mr. Aljiber Ismael, Local Youth Development Officers (LYDOs) from different municipalities, and Development Council Chairman Hon. Yusofkhan J. Imbing.

The party was warmly received by Mayor Ajibon together with the members of the Sanggunianang Kabataan (SK) of Omar. The visit served as an opportunity to formally inform the Local Chief Executive regarding the turnover and transition of NYC BARMM operations and coordination to Region IX.

This meeting marks a renewed partnership and collaboration between the Commission and the Municipal Government of Omar, aimed at opening more doors of opportunity and empowering the youth of the municipality.
