In 1947, as the Philippines rebuilt from the devastation of World War II, the nation once again turned to democratic elections to shape the future of the young republic. Through the pages of the Philippines Free Press, the Liberal Party and Nacionalista Party introduced their official senatorial candidates โ lawyers, educators, businessmen, jurists, and public servants who promised leadership, reconstruction, and national progress.
