In support of the Marine Environmental Protection Enforcement Response Group โ Northeastern Mindanao (MEPU-NEM), Coast Guard Station Bucas Grande actively participated in the Oil Spill Awareness and Emergency Response Training Exercise and Marine Pollution 73-78 Seminar conducted from 27 to 29 May 2026.
The three-day activity consisted of lectures held at the Socorro Womenโs Center and a practical training exercise conducted at Navarro Port, Socorro, Surigao del Norte. Participants included personnel from Coast Guard Station Bucas Grande, Philippine National Police (PNP) Socorro, and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Socorro.
The activity aimed to strengthen inter-agency coordination, enhance awareness on marine environmental protection, and improve preparedness and response capabilities during oil spill incidents and marine pollution emergencies.
Coast Guard Station Bucas Grande remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the marine environment through continuous training, collaboration, and proactive environmental stewardship.
