The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region VIII successfully conducted the PAG-ATAMAN 2026 Regional Summit on Safety, Peace, and Order, bringing together local government officials and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and promote safer, peaceful, and resilient communities across Eastern Visayas.

Representing the Municipality of Tabango, Leyte were Hon. Ma. Corazon E. Remandaban, Municipal Mayor, and MLGOO Jeffrey A. Lora, who participated in the summit and discussions on strategies, programs, and initiatives addressing peace and order, public safety, and local governance.

The summit served as a valuable platform for sharing experiences, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and enhancing the capacity of local governments to address emerging challenges affecting peace, security, and public safety.

The DILG Municipal Office of Tabango, through MLGOO Jeffrey A. Lora, conducted a coordination meeting and assessment with the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Secretary Valentino Codera in preparation for the Local Legislative Awards (LLA).

The activity focused on the review and validation of legislative documents, compliance with the assessment criteria, and the preparation of the required Means of Verification (MOVs) to ensure the municipality’s readiness for the LLA evaluation. Discussions also highlighted the importance of accurate documentation, legislative performance, and compliance with national standards in local governance.

The Local Legislative Awards (LLA) is a recognition program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) that honors high-performing Sanggunians for their exemplary legislative performance, effective lawmaking, and significant contributions to good governance and local development.

Through this collaborative effort, the DILG Municipal Office and the Sangguniang Bayan continue to strengthen legislative excellence and uphold transparency, accountability, and responsive governance for the benefit of the people of Tabango.
