DILG TABONTABON ATTENDS PROVINCIAL TEAM CONFERENCE FOR AUGUST 2026

MLGOO Caroline Nanette Cañas of DILG Tabontabon attended the DILG Leyte Provincial Team Conference cm Target Setting, Sub-LGRC Meeting, Cluster Meeting, and Cultural, Health, and Wellness Activity today, August 28, 2026, held via the Zoom platform.

The meeting was led by the DILG Leyte Provincial Office, under the leadership of Provincial Director Johannes Y. Dorado, and was attended by various provincial and field personnel. Discussions focused on administrative and reporting requirements, including financial status, IPCR target setting, PDMU updates, and various program deliverables.

The conference also highlighted the awarding of Best Performing Field Operating Units (FOUs) and cluster meetings across different districts. The cluster meeting for the 2nd District of Leyte was led by Cluster Head Estela I. Creer, who provided guidance and reminders on report compliance and preparations for upcoming activities.

Through this engagement, DILG Tabontabon reaffirms its commitment to operational excellence, proactive governance, and continuous service improvement across the municipality and the province of Leyte.

DILG Tabontabon Monitors Rice Distribution in Barangay Capauhan and Barangay Guingaun

DILG Tabontabon monitored the Rice Distribution under FY 2026 Local Government Support Fund-Growth Equity Fund in Barangay Capauhan and Barangay Guingaun on August 28, 2026, with the presence of Municipal Mayor Efren Redona and PDMU engineers of DILG Leyte Province.

The program aims to provide food assistance to identified beneficiaries while supporting the LGU's efforts to address food security and improve the welfare of vulnerable communities.

TABONTABON VIES FOR ITS 2ND REGIONAL LOCAL GOVERNANCE CHAMPIONS AWARD

The Municipality of Tabontabon once again rises to its challenge as it vies for its 2nd Regional Local Governance Champions Award on August 25, 2026 at 2nd Floor LGU Building, Tabontabon, Leyte.

The six-member Regional Assessment Team assessed the LGU's performance across the 10 governance areas, giving Tabontabon an opportunity to showcase its programs, systems and initiatives in advancing good governance and quality public service.

With the collective efforts of Mayor Efren Redona, local functionaries, employees, NGA partners and barangay officials, LGU Tabontabon remains steadfast in its pursuit of excellence in local governance.

DILG Tabontabon attended the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony of LGU Tabontabon this morning.

After the ceremony, Municipal Mayor announced the Rice Distribution Project under the Local Governance Support Fund-Growth Equity Fund (LGSF-GEF) started last Friday and will continue throughout this week. He also encouraged everyone to extend their cooperation in keeping the surroundings clean and orderly in preparation for the Regional Local Governance Champions (RLGC) Assessment tomorrow.

Mayor Redoña Meets with Punong Barangays for LGSF-GEF Rice Distribution

Municipal Mayor Efren D. Redoña convened the Punong Barangays to discuss the implementation of Rice Distribution Project under the Local Government Support Fund-Growth Equity Fund (LGSF-GEF).

The meeting focused on the schedule and coordination of rice distribution to the barangays ensuring an organized and smooth implementation of the project.

Also present were MLGOO Caroline Nanette Cañas and Municipal Agriculture Officer Cherie Golong.

August 11, 2026 || Barangay Secretaries Monthly Meeting

The DILG Tabontabon conducted a brief workshop with the barangay secretaries on the formulation of the Barangay Capacity Development (CapDev) Plan, focusing on identifying priority capacity-building needs and appropriate interventions to strengthen barangay governance and service delivery.

The activity also served as a venue to remind the barangaya on the submission of their Barangay Development Plan and compliance with other DILG directives, including the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program.

Special thanks to host barangay, Hon. Josephine Gamez, Punong Barangay of Poblacion III Bonifacio for their warm hospitality.

LGU Tabontabon and DILG Tabontabon Join Regional Summit on Safety, Peace and Order

In a unified commitment to strengthen peacebuilding, good governance and public safety, MLGOO Caroline Nanette Cañas, together with Mayor Efren D. Redoña, participated in the PAG-ATAMAN 2026 and PAG-SECURE AI activities held on August 6-7,2026 at the Summit Hotel, Tacloban City.

Spearheadedby the DILG Region VIII Office, the two activities focused on strengthening accountable and transparent governance, multi-sectoral collaboration, cyber-resilience and peace and security in Eastern Visayas.

DILG Tabontabon joins DILG Leyte Mid-year Planning, Assessment and Performance Enhancement Activity

DILG Tabontabon participated in the DILG Mid-year Planning and Assessment cm Retooled Community Support Program, Accomplishment Review and 2nd Semester Performance Enhancement Activity cm Team Building on July 28-29, 2026 at the PS Palm Villa, Brgy. San Joaquin, Palo, Leyte.

The two-day activity served as a venue to review office accomplishments, assess the implementation of priority programs and identify strategies to improve service delivery and accomplishment performance for the second semester.
