Metro Manila, including Taguig City, is now under a Yellow Heavy Rainfall Warning. Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains, continue to affect the city and are expected to persist for the next two to three hours.

The City of Taguig successfully secured, stabilized, and removed a damaged PLDT utility pole along Adia Street, M.L. Quezon Street, Barangay Bagumbayan, on August 4, eliminating a potential hazard to motorists and nearby residents.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) Search and Rescue Team, together with the City Engineering Office and the Local Utility Office (LUO), carried out emergency operations to secure, stabilize, and remove the damaged pole while awaiting its replacement by PLDT. The City also coordinated with PLDT to facilitate the installation of a new utility pole.

The Traffic Management Office implemented a stop-and-go traffic scheme and managed traffic flow throughout the operation to keep the road passable. The Barangay Rescue Team and the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) Office also assisted in securing the area.

The City of Taguig reminds the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any damaged utility poles or other hazards that may endanger public safety.

Due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the Yellow Heavy Rainfall Warning issued by PAGASA, and upon the recommendation of the Taguig Open Weather and Environmental Reporting System (TOWER), afternoon classes in both public and private schools from Kindergarten to Senior High School (SHS), including Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), in Taguig are suspended today.

All affected classes are advised to shift to modular or other alternative learning modalities.

The Incident Management Team (IMT), under the leadership of Dr. Luis M. Sy Jr., Head of the Taguig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (TCDRRMO), attended the ceremony in support of the city's disaster resilience initiatives. The team's participation emphasized the importance of unity, coordination, and preparedness in building a safer and more resilient community.

The IMT coordinated closely with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), SAR Team (CDRRMO) Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Lake and River Management Office (LRMO), and other partner agencies.

Water rescue teams, medical responders, communication personnel, and emergency assets were strategically deployed along the river route and designated docking areas. Continuous monitoring of river conditions, vessel movements, crowd activities, and weather updates was conducted to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators throughout the procession.
