𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐀𝐏-𝐆𝐒𝐏𝐌 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐰 𝟐𝟎𝟓𝟎

Facilitated by the Development Academy of the Philippines – Graduate School of Public Management (DAP-GSPM), the Pagtanaw 2050 Curriculum Development Training of Trainers officially kicked off on August 10, 2026, and will run until August 14, 2026, at the DAP Conference Center, Tagaytay.

The training brings together educators and stakeholders committed to strengthening curriculum development and advancing the vision of Pagtanaw 2050 toward a more innovative, responsive, and futures-ready Philippine education system.

The opening program featured inspiring messages from DAP Senior Vice President and GSPM Dean Lizan E. Perante-Calina and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)’s Mr. Lorenzo Ereneta, who shared valuable insights and encouragement as participants embark on this five-day learning journey.

Despite the challenges brought about by the weather, participants showed their commitment and enthusiasm to learn, collaborate, and contribute to shaping curricula responsive to the needs and aspirations of the Philippines in the years ahead.

Five days of learning. Five days of collaboration. One shared vision for a futures-ready Philippines.

Congratulations, DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr.!

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) proudly congratulates Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr. for being named as 2026 UPAA Lifetime Distinguished Alumni Awardee by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA).

A distinguished alumnus of the UP Diliman College of Science, where he earned his BS in Geology in 1984, Secretary Solidum has dedicated more than three decades to advancing Philippine science and technology and serving the Filipino people.

From his sterling contributions to geology, earthquake and volcano monitoring, disaster risk reduction, and public preparedness as former Director of DOST-Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, to his leadership in science administration and national science policy as DOST Undersecretary and now Secretary, he has consistently championed the use of science, technology, and innovation for a safer, more resilient, and future-ready Philippines.

This prestigious recognition celebrates not only Secretary Solidum’s remarkable achievements, but also his enduring commitment to excellence, public service, and science for national development.

The science community celebrates this remarkable milestone.

📣 ADVISORY | EXTENSION OF SUBMISSION DEADLINE 📣

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) wish to inform all State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that the deadline for the CHED–DOST Call for Innovations has been extended.

This extension provides higher education institutions with additional time to prepare and submit their breakthrough, science-based technologies and innovations in the following priority areas:

🔬 Advanced Electronics & Semiconductor Systems
🌾 Agri-Food & Blue Economy
💊 Biopharma & Health Technologies

Selected technologies will undergo curation and will be showcased at the CHED–DOST Innovations Summit in September 2026, to be hosted by Batangas State University – The National Engineering University. Outstanding innovations may also be considered for participation in high-level international engagements and global innovation platforms, including activities held alongside the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Program 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐋 continued its engagement at the 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌 (𝑹𝑺𝑻𝑾) 𝑽𝑰𝑰 held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, strengthening collaborations with innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, government agencies, industry partners, and members of the regional innovation ecosystem.

Throughout the succeeding activities, the team engaged with stakeholders to promote technology commercialization, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, and opportunities for translating research into impactful, market-ready solutions. The event provided an avenue to exchange insights, build strategic partnerships, and further advance initiatives that support the growth of science, technology, and innovation across the regions.

As Program 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐋 strengthens its connection with partners nationwide, it remains committed to fostering an inclusive and collaborative innovation ecosystem that empowers Filipino innovators and accelerates the commercialization of homegrown technologies.
