On February 19, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Talugtug conducted a benchmarking activity at the Local Government Unit of Santa Rosa as part of its preparations for the proposed establishment of a sustainable sanitary landfill in the Municipality of Talugtug. The activity aimed to gather best practices, technical insights and institutional experiences to support environmentally sound and sustainable solid waste management planning.

The benchmarking activity was attended by key officials of the municipality, including EnP David John D. Morandarte, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Ms. Arlene C. Baluca, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Engr. Leonides B. Esperon, Municipal Engineer, Dr. Dante N. Enipto, EnP, Municipal Treasurer and Mr. James Bryan D. Alegado, Planning Assistant. Their participation ensured a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach toward sustainable local development.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by EnP Jacqueline P. Dayao, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator of Santa Rosa. The visit also included a courtesy call with Hon. Christopher Flores Aguilar, Municipal Mayor of Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija. The meeting underscored the value of inter-local government cooperation, knowledge sharing and collaborative governance in advancing sustainable and resilient municipal initiatives.

The Talugtug 78th Founding Anniversary Grand Parade Float Competition is set to take place on February 5, 2026 (Thursday) in celebration of Talugtugโ€™s 78 years of foundation. This event aims to highlight the townโ€™s rich culture, creativity, unity and local pride.

Participation is open to all interested individuals and organizations, including but not limited to business establishments, accredited/recognized civil society organizations, BLGUs and Talugtug-based schools. All float entries must be properly decorated, officially registered and approved by the Float Parade Committee.
