💼EMPOWERING ENTREPRENEURS WITH SMART MARKETING STRATEGIES

Today, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Iloilo, through Negosyo Center Tubungan, with the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tubungan, successfully facilitated and conducted the activity entitled “Empowering Entrepreneurs with Smart Marketing Strategies.”

The activity brought together MSMEs, market vendors, and farmers through an interactive workshop, providing them with practical knowledge and strategies to strengthen their marketing efforts, improve product promotion, and effectively reach their target customers.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Municipal Mayor Hon. Roquito G. Tacsagon for his continued support in making this activity possible and supporting the development of local entrepreneurs.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our resource speaker, Mr. Christian N. Torreflores of Negosyo Center Igbaras, for sharing his valuable knowledge, insights, and practical marketing strategies with our participants.

We also acknowledge the valuable assistance of the Department of Agriculture (DA), through Ms. Marjorie C. Tacardon, Municipal Agriculturist, in helping gather and mobilize the farmers who participated in the activity.

Special thanks as well to MSWDO Mrs. Analiza Fruto, MSME Focal Person, for her technical support and participation.

ENTERPRISE VISITS: IGTUBLE KALIPI SLP ASSOCIATION AND PWD LIVELIHOOD ASSOCIATION

The DTI Negosyo Center Tubungan recently conducted enterprise visits to the Igtuble Kalipi SLP Association and the PWD Livelihood Association in Tubungan, Iloilo, to provide additional support in product development and gain insights into their livelihood activities, products, and market opportunities.

The Igtuble Kalipi SLP Association, located in Brgy. Igtuble, was established in 2019 and currently has 18 members producing Taro Chips, Taro Sticks, and Camote Chips. We had the opportunity to talk with Ma’am Jovit E. Tacanloy and learn more about their products and current market reach. Some of their products are displayed at the Tourist Rest Area in Brgy. Igpaho and are also available in the Tubungan market.

Meanwhile, during the visit to the PWD SLP Association, we had the opportunity to talk with Ma’am Mary Grace E. Campillos, one of the association’s active members who produces and supplies various handcrafted crochet products. Some designs are inspired by references found online, while raw materials are sourced through Shopee. The members sell their products within the community, including in schools in Tubungan, and also accept made-to-order crochet items for tokens, gifts, and other occasions. Their crochet products are likewise displayed at the Tourist Rest Area in Brgy. Igpaho, providing them with an additional avenue to showcase and market their creations.

These enterprise visits highlight the creativity, skills, and determination of local associations in turning their talents and resources into livelihood opportunities. 💼🌾🧶

💼 FINANCIALLY WISE, BUSINESS READY: TRANSFORMING LIVELIHOODS INTO THRIVING ENTERPRISES

Today, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Iloilo, through Negosyo Center Tubungan, with the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tubungan, successfully facilitated the activity “FINANCIALLY WISE, BUSINESS READY: TRANSFORMING LIVELIHOODS INTO THRIVING ENTERPRISES” held at the Barangay Hall, Brgy. Igtuble, Tubungan, Iloilo.

The activity was conducted to support and strengthen the livelihood initiatives of beneficiaries under the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD-SLP) by providing them with practical knowledge and skills that can help them develop their livelihood activities into sustainable and profitable enterprises.

With the support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Roquito G. Tacsagon and our partner agencies, participants took part in an Entrepreneurship Discussion and Business Plan Workshop, where they were guided in developing their business ideas, identifying their target market, planning their business operations, and understanding the importance of proper business management.

The activity also featured a Financial Literacy Session facilitated by Mr. Christian N. Torreflores, Junior Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Igbaras, who shared practical insights on budgeting, managing expenses, saving, separating personal and business finances, and properly managing business income.

🌱 ENTERPRISE VISIT | INSPIRING STORIES OF TUBUNGAN ENTREPRENEURS 🧁🍞

Recently, the DTI Negosyo Center Tubungan conducted an enterprise visit to two local enterprises, JJ Delicacies and the Lanag Norte SLP Association, highlighting their inspiring journeys, challenges, and continuous efforts to grow and serve the community.

🧁 JJ DELICACIES
Owned by Ms. Joan Rambenitas Caminian of Barangay Desposorio, Tubungan, Iloilo, JJ Delicacies started from humble beginnings. Her entrepreneurial journey began with an eatery from 2019 to 2021, while making products such as p**o, kutsinta, brownies, and other baked goods on the side.

With her background in Food Technology and passion for baking, Ms. Caminian continued to pursue opportunities to improve her business. In 2024, she was encouraged to participate in a trade fair through the DTI Negosyo Center Tubungan.

Through the process, she received assistance in business name registration, trainings, marketing opportunities, branding, logo development, packaging, and labeling. From an initial capital of only ₱3,000, she never imagined that her small venture would eventually receive numerous orders and generate additional income.

Her story shows how passion, perseverance, and willingness to learn can open doors to greater opportunities. ✨

🍞 LANAG NORTE SLP ASSOCIATION
The Lanag Norte SLP Association started its bakery operations in February 2023 with 29 members. Over time, 17 active members remained committed to sustaining the enterprise. The bakery has become known among Tubunganons for its beloved biscocho, donuts, and mamon and also supplies baked products for the Walang Gutom Program in Tubungan and Guimbal.

During the enterprise visit, Ms. Enalyn Taeda, Treasurer of the Association, shared the challenges they encountered, particularly when their main baker stopped baking and eventually left the association.

Despite this setback, the members did not give up. Instead, they chose to look for opportunities, support one another, and work together to keep the bakery operating. 💪❤️

The association was also given opportunities to participate in trade fairs and showcase their products at the Tourist Rest Area of Tubungan. These opportunities helped introduce their products to more customers, with community members eventually placing orders for their baked goods.

The DTI Negosyo Center Tubungan remains committed to supporting local entrepreneurs through business development, training, product improvement, branding, packaging and labeling, and marketing assistance.

DTI Iloilo Joins Convergence Meeting and Site Visit for Proposed Community-Based Coffee Shop and Agri-Eco Tourism Livelihood Project

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo, represented by Engr. Jonathan T. Tejida, SvTIDS, together with Mary Ann Alteros, JBC of Negosyo Center Tubungan, attended the Convergence Meeting for the proposed “Community-Based Coffee Shop and Agri-Eco Tourism Livelihood Project” held on August 12, 2026, at the UCCP Hall, Barangay Igtuble, Tubungan, Iloilo.

The proposed project, to be established in Sitio Maguey, Barangay Igpaho, Tubungan, Iloilo aims to develop a sustainable coffee value chain while creating livelihood opportunities and promoting agri-eco tourism in the community.

The activity was supported by Municipal Mayor Hon. Roquito G. Tacsagon, led by the LGU Tubungan PESO staff, and attended by representatives from the Municipal Government of Tubungan (LGU Tubungan), partner government agencies, community organizations, private sector stakeholders, and project beneficiaries.

As one of the partner institutions, DTI Negosyo Center Tubungan committed to supporting the project through entrepreneurship development, product labeling and packaging, branding and marketing assistance, and market linkage, including linking the project proponents to trade fairs and other market promotion activities facilitated by DTI Iloilo.

A site visit to the proposed project location was also identified as part of the succeeding activities to further assess the area and determine appropriate interventions.

Negosyo Center Tubungan is proud to share that two (2) local MSMEs from the Municipality of Tubungan participated in the DTI Region VI Western Visayas BizConEx: Business Conference on Wheels 2026, hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo Provincial Office on August 7, 2026, at Sams 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.

Through the encouragement and registration assistance provided by Negosyo Center Tubungan, the following MSMEs successfully participated in the event:

The event was honored by the presence of Iloilo City Mayor Hon. Raisa S. Treñas-Chu, who delivered the keynote message. It also featured inspiring messages of support from Atty. Jobert A. Peñaflorida, Co-Chairperson of the Regional Development Council VI and Area Vice President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Visayas, and Mr. Francis Gerona, representing Engr. Fulbert C. Woo, Regional Governor of PCCI Region VI.

Throughout the conference, the participants gained valuable knowledge and practical insights on business growth, sustainable and eco-friendly business practices, export opportunities, government programs and services for MSMEs, and policy development. The event also provided an excellent opportunity to network with fellow entrepreneurs, learn from industry experts, and discover strategies to strengthen and expand their businesses.

We commend Betchay's Craft and JJ Delicacies for taking the initiative to learn, connect, and grow. Their participation reflects their commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and exploring new market opportunities.

🌱 Empowering Communities Through Entrepreneurship! 💼✨

Today, DTI Negosyo Center Tubungan successfully conducted an Entrepreneurship Seminar for the Angat Isauan SLP Association in Brgy. Isauan, Tubungan, Iloilo. The activity was organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), in partnership with the Tubungan Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and in collaboration with DTI Negosyo Center Tubungan.

The activity was attended by Sir Abelito Lima Jr., Implementing PDO II, Ma'am Christine Joy Genilla, Monitoring PDO II, Ms. Analiza Fruto, SLP Focal Person, in collaboration with DTI Negosyo Center Tubungan, represented by Mary Ann Alteros, Junior Business Counselor.

During the seminar, the members of the Angat Isauan SLP Association gained valuable knowledge on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including developing an entrepreneurial mindset, identifying business opportunities, and managing a small enterprise. The session aimed to inspire participants to transform their livelihood initiatives into sustainable and profitable businesses.
