LTFRB REGION 2 SUSPENDS JEEPNEYS INVOLVED IN ALLEGED STREET RACING INCIDENT IN NAGUILIAN, ISABELA
In line with the directive of President Ferdinand โBongbongโ R. Marcos, Jr. to ensure the safety and welfare of the Filipino people, and under the guidance of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez, DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure, and LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 2 has issued a preventive suspension against the public utility jeepneys allegedly involved in a street racing incident along the national highway in Naguilian, Isabela.
The units involved are operated operated by the Cauayan Isabela Benito Soliven San Mariano Transport Cooperative. The preventive suspension was imposed as an immediate measure to protect the riding public while the Board conducts its administrative proceedings regarding the alleged reckless and dangerous driving incident.
LTFRB Region 2 Regional Director Atty. Richard Dayag likewise issued a Show Cause Order (SCO) on July 17, 2026, directing the concerned operators and drivers to explain why appropriate administrative sanctions should not be imposed for the alleged violations.
The concerned parties are set to appear before LTFRB Region 2 on Monday, July 20, 2026, for the scheduled hearing where they will be given the opportunity to present their side and where the Board will determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and establish possible violations of existing transport laws, rules, and regulations.
LTFRB Region 2 reiterates that reckless, irresponsible, and dangerous driving has no place in public transportation. All public utility vehicle operators and drivers are expected to strictly observe road safety regulations, maintain professionalism, and prioritize the safety of passengers and all road users.
The Regional Office remains firm in enforcing transport regulations and will continue to take swift and appropriate action against individuals or entities found violating public transport policies.
