Donate your books to Tankobonbon 🤝

If you’re a collector who wishes to donate (or sell) your books to Tankobonbon so it can be read by more people, then you might be interested in the Guild Appraisal!

The library was my gateway to collecting books. When I was younger, I often visit the library near me (since I cannot afford books myself at that time) and kept on reading and reading from their collection. Once I was able to have the means to collect books myself, I ended up amassing a lot of them! I thought libraries offer a great “trial version” to make me love more books over time, hone my reading skills (especially as a child), and explore different cultures, perspectives, and stories that are beyond textbooks. And that initiative wouldn’t be possible by just having my own collection available for reading (cause tastes vary!) as I may not have books that are for everybody. This old collection of English Shonen Jump, for example, was that library’s parting gift to me when I left, and now I’m having them read by you.

So if you have a genuine intention to have a manga or a light novel that you wish to be instead read in our library, such as if ever you’ve outgrown it and would love others to carry on the love you had for it, we are open for them. ❤️

I still intend to mainly acquire books brand-new from bookstores, and this is only an alternative way to give other books a home. This is not a means for anyone to “profit” off of their books recklessly.

Visit tankobonbon.com/pages/appraisal for more deets, or feel free to send a message for any questions you may have and I’d be very happy to answer them.

P.S.: Since we are still closed, please fill out the form on the page above so we can communicate when you can drop or ship them off. :)

I am… arranging books! I have ~5,000 of them (so it’ll take…… quite a lot of time hahahahahaha)

There are still a lot left for me to do so hang in there, don’t visit yet! Take note that Tankobonbon is NOT YET OPEN! ❌

When? I’m not sure. I don’t wanna present a half-hearted library to you, after all. It’s like I’m courting you with books here, and I hope to bring you something that you’re comfortable with. 🫶

What on earth is this long post again? Where is the professionalism? The business vibe? The concise statement? Well, it doesn’t exist! I write letters! This time, happy six years to Tankobonbon! I don’t know when exactly, probably September 1, or 9, or 20 (lol idk) but yeeeee! This library serves as my unconditional love and gratitude for books. I feel like a parent who didn’t mind working night and day just to provide everything my child wants, not because I have to, but because I wanted to and it’s worthy. Sometimes I even think no one would show up after making you wait so long, but idc! I like it! I’m loving it! That’s all that matters! (Probably! There’s rent to pay tho… so pls still come when we’re open… hahaha) Like, “ah, so this is what unconditional love is.” How ironic from my hatred towards the bookstore, huh? HAHDSHDHSH 😆 But love takes patience, time… and money. I’m trying to hang in there too.

Anyway! Enough melodrama! In case you missed my announcement in my stories, we won’t be at MIBF this year, too bad! But I’ll (hopefully) be there having my long-awaited day as a normal visitor. Are you going to MIBF too? Have you gotten your tickets yet? (I sure haven’t yet! I hope I don’t forget! HAHAHAHA)

For now, while waiting, pre-register for a library card on our website at tankobonbon.com ;) Pre-registered folks are one of the first ones that can visit the place and fight me over wrong lighting or bad water pressure.

Thanks for reading this!
Tho you’ll read a lot more once you’re here, I’m just training you ;)))))

-Bon, typing this instead of opening another box of books

Hi, y’all.

I am looking for music suggestions that you wish for us to play inside the library as your reading BGM. Since we intend to acquire appropriate music licenses for them, there’s a *little* restriction for them. I’d appreciate if all fields can be filled out, but if not, I’ll find those information out for you.

Even if you’re not visiting our library, I’d still appreciate input in spreading the word of your favorite cozy anime song.

Thanks in advance! 🙇‍♀️🫶

📺 Thinking of reading the manga after (or before) watching the anime? We gotchu.

And no, these aren’t all! We have more than 4,000 books in our library! We know we kept on teasing them, but we have so much that posting once a day is definitely not enough to show them all!
