PTO Trains Staff on Tour Guiding
Bongao, Tawi-Tawi --- The Provincial Tourism Office of Tawi-Tawi, headed by Hji. Pershing M. Taiyab, JD, held a 2-day Training-Workshop on the Basics of Tour Guiding and Filipino Brand of Service on December 3-4, 2021 to equip its staff with fundamental skills in handling tourists as it expects an influx of tourist arrivals by 2022 following the easing of travel requirements in the country after a significant fall of cases of the COVID-19.
A total of 30 participants, all empoyed in the PLGU Tawi-Tawi under the PTO, benefitted from the said capacity building. The training lecture topics included 1.) A General Overview on the Famous and Most Visited Tour Attractions in Tawi-Tawi, the People and Culture; 2.) The Filipino Brand of Service Excellence; 3.) Fundamentals in Tour Guiding; 4.) Qualities of a Good Tour Guide; and 5.) Service Quality. Sets of workshops were also given by the resource speakers and trainers including an on-the-field tour to some of the tour attractions in Bongao.
In his remarks, PT Officer Hji. Taiyab extended his sincerest gratitude to the administration of the Provincial Government under the leadership of Hon. Governor Hji. Yshmael "Mang" I. Sali, for its all out support to the office which in general will help in boosting the tourism activities in the province, and furthermore help in its economic development.
