Cabadbaran is the capital city in the province of Agusan del Norte, Philippines. Official Website: www.cabadbaranadn.gov.ph

It has a population of 69,241 according to the NSO Census of 2010. Founded in 1894, the city rose from its Spanish period beginnings to become the premier town of Agusan del Norte. Its rich cultural heritage is evident in its preserved colonial period houses and its archaeological collections. Following its recent declaration as a city, it is also the officially designated capital of the province per Republic Act 8811.

CABADBARAN CITY — The Local Government Unit of Cabadbaran joins the nation in celebrating the 126th Civil Service Month with the theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayan: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan.”

The month-long celebration officially kicked off today at the City Hall Grounds, People’s Government Center, with the participation of City Officials led by Mayor Judy Chin Amante and Vice Mayor Leo Dale A. Corvera, together with LGU employees and personnel from various National Government Agencies.

The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass solemnized by Rev. Msgr. Guy Arnold L. Pineda, offering prayers and thanksgiving for the continued guidance and blessings bestowed upon the city’s public servants.

Following the Holy Mass was “Pasiugda 2026: Baryo Fiesta — Panaghiusa, Kalipay ug Serbisyo Para sa Katawhan,” a celebration highlighting unity, joy, camaraderie, and the commitment of government workers to provide meaningful and responsive service to the people.

The kick-off program served as a reminder that being a public servant goes beyond performing duties—it is a commitment to serve with heart, integrity, excellence, and genuine concern for the welfare of every Cabadbaranon.

As Cabadbaran celebrates Civil Service Month, its government workforce continues to embody the spirit of “Lingkod Bayan”—working together with dedication and purpose toward a better and more progressive community.

CABADBARAN CITY — Mayor Judy Chin Amante called an Emergency Coordination Meeting with City Police Director Lt. Col. Edcel Caramonte, DepEd Cabadbaran City Division Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Imelda Sabornido, and administrators and principals of private schools and university in the city.

The meeting was convened to address the recent rapid spread of social media threats involving different schools in Cabadbaran City. The situation prompted the suspension of classes for two days, beginning today, August 27, and continuing tomorrow, August 28, 2026, while the police investigation is ongoing.

During the meeting, the participating officials and school administrators discussed the current situation, coordinated security and safety measures, and strengthened communication and response protocols to ensure the protection and well-being of students, teachers, school personnel, and the entire school community.

Mayor Amante emphasized the importance of close coordination among the City Government, the Philippine National Police, the Department of Education, and private educational institutions in responding to the threats and preventing the spread of misinformation and panic.

The City Government of Cabadbaran urges the public to remain calm, vigilant, and responsible in sharing information. Residents are advised to rely only on official announcements from the City Government, the police, and school authorities, and to immediately report any suspicious information or activity to the proper authorities.

The City Government remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all students and school personnel while the investigation continues.

CABADBARAN CITY — Mayor Judy Chin Amante, together with City Engineer Engr. Alexander Casintahan, visited three barangay relocation sites yesterday, August 26, 2026, located in Barangays La Union, Calibunan, and Comagascas to assess the conditions and needs of the beneficiaries.

During the visit, Mayor Amante assured the beneficiaries that the government is committed to providing the necessary support, including relocation sites, shelter assistance, and construction materials assistance. She also emphasized the City Government’s efforts to address their basic needs, particularly access to water and electricity.

Mayor Amante and Engr. Casintahan also discussed measures to ensure that the relocation sites are properly developed and that the beneficiaries receive the assistance and services they need to build safer and more stable homes.

CABADBARAN CITY — DILG City Local Government Operations Officer Ms. Annabella O. Cadigal paid a courtesy visit to City Mayor Judy Chin Amante to discuss important perspectives and initiatives concerning the welfare of the people of Cabadbaran City.

During the meeting, Ms. Cadigal and Mayor Amante exchanged views on matters related to local governance, public service delivery, and the continued promotion of programs that respond to the needs and concerns of Cabadbaranon.

CABADBARAN CITY — Five Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) from the barangays of Puting Bato, Del Pilar, Calamba, Mahaba, and Bayabas paid a courtesy visit to City Mayor Judy Chin Amante on August 26, 2026.

During the visit, the IPMRs sought the support of the City Government of Cabadbaran for the provision of personal computer units with printer and an air-conditioning unit for their respective offices.

The requested equipment is intended to help improve their office operations and facilitate smoother and more efficient transactions, particularly in attending to the concerns, requests, and needs of Indigenous Peoples in their respective barangays.

The IPMRs emphasized the importance of having adequate office equipment to support documentation, communication, coordination, and other administrative functions necessary in carrying out their responsibilities as representatives of the Indigenous Peoples sector.

Mayor Judy Chin Amante welcomed the representatives and acknowledged their request, underscoring the importance of providing appropriate support to IPMRs in the performance of their duties and in ensuring that services reach the Indigenous Peoples communities.

Cabadbaran City - Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) new Branch Manager Ms. Ruby M. Cultura paid a courtesy visit to City Mayor Judy Chin Amante on August 26, 2026, as part of her introduction and familiarization with the City Government of Cabadbaran.

During the visit, Ms. Cultura introduced herself to Mayor Amante and presented the newly assigned LANDBANK officer who will be working closely with the City Government and its constituents.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss LANDBANK’s various banking services and programs available to its clients, including services that may benefit LGU employees.

The courtesy visit highlighted the importance of maintaining a strong and collaborative partnership between LANDBANK and the City Government in ensuring accessible, efficient, and responsive banking services for Cabadbaranon and LGU personnel.

The visit centered on the barangay’s request for support from the City Government for its priority projects and other community concerns.

Among the projects presented were the improvement and development of the drainage system and installation of streetlights, which aim to improve public safety, accessibility, and the overall welfare of residents.

CABADBARAN CITY — Personnel of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), led by Muslim Settlement Division Chief Adulharim Z. Khalid, together with Legal Affairs Division Chief Nadzma M. Ameril Naga and Cabadbaran Muslim Community President Engr. Azraf A. Mamao, paid a courtesy visit to City Mayor Judy Chin Amante, August 25, 2026.

The visit focused on important concerns affecting the Muslim community in Cabadbaran City, particularly birth registration issues, the recent situation concerning the mosque, and other related matters requiring coordination and assistance.

The NCMF representatives and the Cabadbaran Muslim Community sought the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) in addressing these concerns and in strengthening cooperation toward the delivery of appropriate services and assistance to members of the Muslim community.

Mayor Judy Chin Amante welcomed the delegation and expressed the LGU’s openness to working with the NCMF and community leaders in finding appropriate and responsive solutions to the concerns raised.

The courtesy visit underscored the importance of continued collaboration among national government agencies, the local government, and community organizations in promoting inclusive governance, peaceful coexistence, and the welfare of all sectors of the community
