The Municipal Government of Valladolid hereby informs the public that WORK IN ALL MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OFFICES IS SUSPENDED due to the inclement weather brought about by Typhoon “BASYANG.”

📅 Date of Work Suspension:
February 6, 2026

This is pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 010, Series of 2026, issued by Hon. Ricardo P. Presbitero Jr., Municipal Mayor, in consideration of the safety and well-being of all municipal officials and employees.

⚠️ EXCEPTION:
Offices, agencies, and personnel responsible for basic, vital, and health services, including disaster preparedness and response, shall remain operational to ensure the continuity of essential government services.

📢 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT | CLASS SUSPENSION

The Municipal Government of Valladolid informs the public that classes at all levels in both public and private schools are SUSPENDED due to Tropical Depression “BASYANG.”

📅 Date of Suspension:February 5, 2026 (12:00 noon) to February 6, 2026

This is in accordance with Executive Order No. 003, Series of 2026, issued by Hon. Ricardo P. Presbitero Jr., Municipal Mayor, upon the recommendation of the MDRRMC, following PAGASA weather advisories and the declaration of Red Alert Status.

Schools are encouraged to adopt alternative learning methods, such as modular distance learning, during the suspension period.

The public is advised to take necessary safety precautions and continuously monitor official announcements from the Local Government Unit.

A courtesy visit was made by the Valladolid athletes who emerged as winners during the Provincial Meet to Municipal Mayor Ricardo P. Presbitero Jr. and Vice Mayor Shirley Nacion. The delegation was accompanied by Ma’am Dory Nacional, District Supervisor, Sir Rey John Noble, District Sports Coordinator and Coaches.

The visit served as a gesture of gratitude and recognition for the athletes’ hard work, discipline, and dedication, which brought honor, pride, and numerous awards to the Municipality of Valladolid. In appreciation of their outstanding performance and commitment to excellence in sports, the athletes were given incentives by the local government as a token of recognition and encouragement.

During the meeting, Mayor Ricardo P. Presbitero Jr. expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the athletes and commended the unwavering support of the coaches, trainers, and school officials who guided them throughout their journey. He reaffirmed his full support for sports development in the municipality, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young athletes and promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellence among the youth.

Look👀👉HAPPENING NOW | Gender Sensitivity & Women Empowerment Forum❤️

Anchored on the official communication from the Provincial Gender and Development Focal Point System of the Province of Negros Occidental, the Municipality of Valladolid is currently conducting the Gender Sensitivity, Human Rights, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC), and Anti-Rape Law Forum.

This meaningful activity is made possible through the effort and support of Hon. Mayor Ricardo P. Presbitero Jr., with the active presence and facilitation of MSWDO Mrs. Erlina Presbitero, OSCA Head Mrs. Janet Palacios, and Mam Joy G. Visorro, Population Program Worker from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office – Population Development Division.

The forum brings together participants from the Senior Citizens, Youth Sector, and ERPAT members, strengthening intergenerational awareness and shared responsibility in promoting gender equality and human rights.


Serving as the resource speaker is Mam Marie June P. Castro, Executive Assistant IV of the Office of the Governor and GAD Focal Point Person of the Province of Negros Occidental, who provided valuable insights on gender sensitivity and women empowerment.

📢 Empowering the Youth of Valladolid 🌟

The Local Government Unit of Valladolid, Negros Occidental, continues its commitment to youth development through the program “Empowering Out-of-School Youth: Activities for Capacity Building and Social Responsibility.” This initiative focuses on Life Skills towards Responsible Adolescents, providing Out-of-School Youth (OSY) with meaningful opportunities for personal growth, character development, and social responsibility for Fiscal Year 2025.

This program is made possible with the continuing support of Hon. Mayor Ricardo P. Presbitero Jr., whose leadership remains steadfast in uplifting the lives of the youth and ensuring inclusive development in the municipality. Implemented through the Out-of-School Youth (OSY) – Valladolid under the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the activity aims to equip young individuals with essential life skills that will guide them toward becoming responsible and productive members of the community.

Through the dedicated efforts of Mayor Ricardo P. Presbitero Jr. and Vice Mayor Shirley Nacion a meeting with local fisherfolks was successfully conducted at the Central Tabao, Valladolid Fish Market. The activity was sponsored by the Municipal Agricultural Office (MAO) and aimed to address pressing concerns of the fishing sector, promote sustainable fishing practices, and strengthen coordination among stakeholders. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and various Local Government Unit (LGU) officials especially Hon. SB Member Noel Nacion- Committe Chairman on Agriculture and Fisheries, underscoring a unified government approach to fisheries management and coastal law enforcement. Also present were concerned organized associations and fisherfolk groups, whose participation provided valuable insights and firsthand perspectives on the challenges faced by the local fishing community. This initiative forms part of the priority thrusts of the Local Government of Valladolid to secure sustainable livelihoods for every Dolidnon, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive development, food security, and the long-term protection of marine and coastal resources.
