Last August 31, 2026, around 200 adolescents came together at Mindoro State University โ€“ Main Campus for the Mirinsanan: Municipal Youth Convention 2026, celebrating the voices, dreams, and aspirations of the young people of Victoria. ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

With the theme โ€œDifferent Contexts, Common Aspirations,โ€ the event emphasized that while every young person may have a different story and life experience, we share a common aspirationโ€”to be healthy, empowered, informed, and given opportunities to thrive.

Victoria Municipal Health Office (MHO) headed by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Pinafrancia Reyes, Medical Officer III Dr. Katrin Arago, Adolescent Health and Development Program coordinator Gladys Javate, NDP Grace Ederly Escalona and HIV Coordinator Jetro Balaque, in collaboration with LGU Victoria, Provincial DOH Office, Provincial Health Office- OrMin, SK Federation President Hon. Josh Pypers Macalintal, and the Local Youth Development Office, actively participated in the celebration by bringing Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility (AFHF) services closer to the youth.

Mam Rochelle Baxa from the Provincial Health Office shared valuable insights and information on adolescent health, helping young participants better understand the importance of making informed and responsible health choices.

Grace Ederly G. Escalona, NDP, introduced the participants to various AFHF services and programs implemented under 3K Para sa Kabataan Program- Kaalaman, Kalusugan at Kaligtasan available to adolescentsโ€”services designed to be accessible, youth-friendly, respectful, and confidential.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Mini Launching of the Teen Passport to Wellness
Victoria MHO (with NDP Ljay Javier, RHMPP May Ann Singsing and Ambulance Driver Jerson Awa) also conducted the mini launching of the Teen Passport to Wellness, an initiative that encourages adolescents to take an active role in caring for their health and overall well-being.

โ“๐ŸŽ Health Q&A with Prizes!
Knowledge of the youth were tested through an exciting Question and Answer (Q &A) activity about health, with prizes given to those participants who got the correct answers! ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿฉท HIV Awareness and Prevention
Free condoms and informative leaflets about HIV were also made available, together with a directory of Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility services, empowering young people with accurate information and access to appropriate health services.

Adding inspiration to the event was a special video (that will be upload later) featuring Jeland Gayacan, the hailed AFHFโ€“Victoria Ambassadress 2026, promoting the importance of knowing, accessing, and utilizing adolescent-friendly health services.

AFHF YOUTH SPORTS COURT: PLAY, CONNECT & THRIVE! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ

Victoria Municipal Health Office, through the Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility (AFHF) initiative, is creating a safe and welcoming space where young people can PLAY, CONNECT, and THRIVE! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŸ๏ธ YOUTH SPORTS COURT
One side of the existing Municipal Court will be designated as a Youth Court, equipped with a sports net to provide adolescents with a safe, accessible, and youth-friendly venue for:

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Sports and recreation
๐Ÿค Youth interaction and social connection
๐Ÿ’ช Physical activity and healthy lifestyles
๐ŸŒฑ Youth development activities

But it doesn't stop at the court! ๐Ÿ“–โœจ A Youth Court Logbook will be maintained to document the activities conducted and the participation of adolescents. This will help us monitor engagement and ensure that the space continues to respond to the needs and interests of our young people.
