PNP ARRESTS 21 WANTED PERSONS NATIONWIDE, INCLUDING TOP-RANKED INDIVIDUALS IN MOST WANTED LISTS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to intensify its nationwide manhunt operations after arresting 21 wanted persons, including several individuals listed among the Top Most Wanted Persons in their respective areas, during a series of operations conducted on August 3 and 4, 2026.

Among those apprehended were individuals ranked as No. 1 Most Wanted Persons in Police Regional Offices 5 and 4B, along with other high-ranking wanted personalities from different regions. The arrested persons were facing various criminal charges, including murder, r**e, statutory r**e, qualified theft, carnapping, kidnapping, and violations of Republic Act No. 9165, among others.

In Masbate, authorities arrested a No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 5 who was facing multiple charges, including murder and attempted murder. Meanwhile, a No. 1 Most Wanted Person of PRO 4B was also arrested in Romblon for multiple counts of qualified r**e of a minor.

Other notable arrests included a No. 7 Most Wanted Person in Samar for murder, a No. 4 Most Wanted Person in Occidental Mindoro for r**e, and a No. 8 Most Wanted Person in Iloilo for r**e by carnal knowledge. Several other wanted persons listed at the regional and provincial levels were likewise taken into custody in coordinated operations across the country.

The operations were carried out by different police units through intelligence-driven efforts and close coordination among local police offices, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group units, Regional Intelligence Units, Police Mobile Forces, and other partner law enforcement units.

These accomplishments reflect the PNP’s continued commitment to strengthening its crime prevention and law enforcement efforts under the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which promotes proactive, intelligence-based, and coordinated police actions to keep communities safe.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that the successful arrests demonstrate the PNP’s resolve to ensure that wanted persons are accounted for and made to face the proper judicial process.

“Hindi po titigil ang ating mga kapulisan sa paghahanap sa mga taong may pananagutan sa batas. Every arrest is a step toward safer communities and stronger public trust. We will continue to use lawful and focused operations to bring wanted individuals before the courts,” PGen Nartatez said.

The Chief PNP also assured the public that all arrested individuals were informed of their rights and are now under the custody of the appropriate police units for proper documentation and disposition in accordance with existing procedures.

Aligned with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen public safety and uphold the rule of law, the PNP remains committed to delivering responsive and accountable service. The Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO), under the leadership of PCOL AL M ABANALES, Provincial Director, successfully conducted a Seminar-Workshop on the Investigation and Prosecution of Cybercrime Offenses under Republic Act No. 10175 on August 6, 2026, at the VNC Hall, Provincial Headquarters, MORPPO.

The activity opened with welcome remarks from PLTCOL RECK FRANKLIN V VALMORES, followed by an inspirational message from Ms. Caroline Lee, Program Director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany.

The seminar featured lectures from PSMS Mae J Magto of RACU 10 on the Rule on Cybercrime Warrants, Cyber Libel, Cyber Security, and R.A. No. 12010 (Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act); PEMS Mercy Joy T. Edrea of RIDMD on R.A. No. 10175; Atty. Charissa Kay B Alvarez-Pabatao, Associate Provincial Prosecutor, on cybercrime laws, online fraud, and related special laws; and PLTCOL ARIEL PHILIP I PONTILLAS of RIDMD on the provisions of R.A. No. 12022 and R.A. No. 10863.

Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the resource speakers by PCOL AL M ABANALES, together with the Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit (PIDMU). The activity concluded with the closing remarks of PCOL AL M ABANALES, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning and inter-agency collaboration in strengthening the PNP's capability to combat cybercrime and protect the public in the digital age.

Through initiatives such as this, MORPPO reaffirms its commitment to developing competent, well-equipped, and highly professional police officers capable of effectively investigating and prosecuting cybercrime offenses while upholding justice, accountability, and public trust.

Bringing safety education closer to every learner, personnel of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO), under the leadership of PCOL AL M ABANALES, Provincial Director, together with personnel from Claveria Municipal Police Station continued their school-based Information and Education Campaign (IEC) by conducting lectures at Punong Elementary School, Brgy. Punong, Claveria, Misamis Oriental—a remote school in the municipality.

The activity focused on Republic Act No. 10627 (Anti-Bullying Act of 2013) and other child protection-related laws, empowering pupils with the knowledge to recognize, prevent, and report bullying, abuse, and other forms of violence against children. It also emphasized the importance of respect, kindness, and shared responsibility in creating a safe, secure, and child-friendly learning environment.

Despite the distance, MORPPO remains steadfast in ensuring that every child—regardless of location—has access to essential information that promotes their rights, safety, and well-being.
This initiative forms part of MORPPO's continuing commitment to strengthening police-community partnerships through proactive education and child-centered advocacy, ensuring that no learner is left behind in building safer schools and stronger communities.

𝗣𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗔𝗟 𝗠 𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗦, Provincial Director, successfully conducted a Fire Safety Lecture, Fire Drill, and Fire Safety Evaluation in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.

The activity featured comprehensive discussions on the proper handling and use of fire extinguishers, fire safety protocols, evacuation procedures, and the appropriate immediate actions to be taken in the event of a fire alarm. The lecture and practical fire drill were facilitated by SFO2 Donald Chris R Galisa, FO1 Jason P Mapano, and FO1 Andrew P Maulas, while the Fire Safety Evaluation was conducted by FO3 Hydie M Roa and FO1 Danreb T Paclar.

Following the activity, 𝗣𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗔𝗟 𝗠 𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗦 delivered his message and guidance, emphasizing the importance of fire safety awareness, preparedness, and strict adherence to emergency response procedures. 𝗩𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗨𝗘𝗩𝗔, 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 – A High-Value Individual (HVI) was arrested while approximately 90 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱612,000.00 were confiscated during the implementation of a search warrant in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, on August 4, 2026.

The operation was conducted at about 12:32 PM in Zone 4, Poblacion, El Salvador City, by joint operatives of the El Salvador City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office, under PDEA Pre-Operation Number 11-00-08042026-010.

The implementation of Search Warrant No. SWA-072226-935 for violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, resulted in the arrest of a High-Value Individual (HVI), a 40-year-old married male resident of the locality.

Recovered during the implementation of the search warrant were four (4) large heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 90 grams, with an estimated value of ₱612,000.00, along with assorted drug paraphernalia, including disposable lighters, aluminum foil strips, improvised plastic scoops, empty sachets, a sunglass case, a blue pouch, a screwdriver, and aluminum foil rolls.

All confiscated pieces of evidence were properly inventoried and subsequently submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examination. Meanwhile, the arrested suspect remains under the custody of the El Salvador City Police Station pending the filing of appropriate charges for violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Also formally participating in the activity was PLTCOL PATRICK B DALANGIN, Chief Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit (PARMU), whose presence underscored the significance of the audit in reinforcing sound personnel management and organizational governance.

This was followed by the presentation of the Audit Team and a comprehensive briefing on the conduct of the Management Audit, presided over by PMAJ DENNIS G QUINDARA, Audit, Team Leader, providing participants with a clear understanding of the audit process, objectives, and evaluation standards.
