Many families live in environments completely dominated by heavily marketed, ultra-processed food options.

Local youth development leaders, like Mr. Dave Supat Tolentino, Head of the Provincial Youth Development Office - Catanduanes, are stepping up to demand mandatory warning labels. He believes young people deserve environments that actively protect their health.

For him, teaching nutrition literacy all day is not enough; if we envision real change, we must actively implement systemic policies to integrate healthier food environments and mandate front-of-pack warning labels.

𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐛𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩

Ibinahagi ng Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Catanduanes, sa pangunguna ni Provincial PESO Manager Gerry S. Rubio, ang mga programa at employment opportunities ng tanggapan sa ginanap na pagtatapos ng SIBOL: Catanduanes Youth Leadership Camp 2026 ngayong araw, Agosto 28, sa E-Crown Hotel and Resort.

Naglingkod ang PESO Catanduanes bilang isa sa mga pangunahing ahensya sa ginanap na World Café at Solution-Seeking Dialogue—isang interactive session kung saan direktang iniharap sa mga kabataan ang mga serbisyo ukol sa trabaho, pangkabuhayan, at skills development.

Bukod sa PESO, nagbahagi rin ng kani-kanilang mga social services at programa para sa kabataan ang Provincial Agricultural Services Office (PASO), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Catanduanes Field Office, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Catanduanes, at Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Catanduanes.

Naging bukas din ang programa sa mga katanungan at diskusyon, kung saan direktang nakapag-abot ang mga kabataan ng kanilang mga queries at pananaw ukol sa mga serbisyong pampamahalaan.

Ang tatlong araw na youth camp, na nagsimula noong Agosto 26 para sa taunang pagdiriwang ng Linggo ng Kabataan alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 10742 (Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015), ay isinagawa ng Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO), katuwang ang DILG Catanduanes at Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation.

Ang aktibidad na ito ay bahagi ng mas malawak na adhikain ni Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza na bigyang-prayoridad ang pag-unlad ng kabataang Catandunganon, na isa sa mga pangunahing bahagi ng 5-K priority thrust ng administrasyon ng panlalawigang pamahalaan.

: 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗪 🗡🌱

The final day of SIBOL 2026 brought together three days of conversations, challenges, new friendships, and experiences that the campers will take with them beyond the camp.

The morning opened with different agencies sharing programs and opportunities for young Catandunganons. The Solution Seeking Dialogue followed, where the teams presented their ideas and talked about issues that matter to their generation and their communities.

The camp also recognized the campers, teams, and facilitators who stood out throughout the three days.

CYLC's first ever Amigetch of the camp, Emil Cantar, led the campers in the Pledge of Commitment as they put into words their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and the role they hope to play in their communities.

The day came to a close with the Synthesis Presentation and Video, bringing together the stories, reflections, and moments from the past three days. It was also during the presentation that the batch name was revealed.

🌱 𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗪

BThe name came from the five teams, Talubo, Tanglaw, Pisog, Tindog Barangaw, and Tribu Rokyaw. After three days of learning, sharing ideas, working together, and getting to know one another, the five teams now had one name to carry with them.

SIBOL brought together young people with their own experiences, perspectives, and aspirations, but along the way, they found shared ground in the things they care about and the communities they hope to serve.

And just like that, SIBOL 2026 came to a close.

What started as three days together now becomes something they can carry into the communities they return to.

DILG Provincial Director Uldarico S. Razal, Jr. recognizes Catanduanes’ continued commitment to giving young people a space to learn, lead, and take part in building their communities.

Five years in and being the only remaining PLGU-led youth camp in the region, the Catanduanes Youth Leadership Camp continues to grow through the partnership between the Provincial Government of Catanduanes and DILG, with youth leadership at the heart of it.

- 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮: 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 ✨

𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮.

Representatives from each team stepped up for the Lakan, Liyag, and Lakan Sari kan CYLC pageant, taking on questions and challenges that called for quick thinking, clear answers, confidence, and composure.

Then came Talentadong Catandunganon, where performers had limited time to prepare but still took the stage and delivered their acts with plenty of heart.

The teams also brought their Flat Lay Art to the stage, explaining the objects they chose and the experiences and ideas woven into each piece.

And of course, the crowd had a role to play too, filling the venue with cheers and support for every team and every performer. 👏

Bilang bahagi ng ating makabuluhang selebrasyon ng Linggo ng Kabataan, nagpaabot ng mensahe si 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗰. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼 “𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳” 𝗢𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗮, ang 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 (NYC).

Kinikilala ng NYC ang lakas at potensyal ng bawat kabataan na maging mga lider ng pagbabago. Sa kanyang mensahe, ipinaalala ni Usec. Jeff na napakahalaga ng ating partisipasyon at pakikialam upang masiguro ang isang masaganang kinabukasan para sa lahat. Ipinapaabot niya ang buong suporta ng komisyon sa mga inisyatibo ng mga kabataang Catandunganon.

- DAY 2: SIBOL, IN A FLAT LAY. 📸🌱

After the Amazing Race, the campers had another challenge to work on: turning their SIBOL experience into a flat lay.

Using objects and items from the camp, each team created a piece that reflected the moments, lessons, and memories they had gathered so far. They presented their work that evening, sharing the stories and ideas behind what they put together.

A different kind of challenge, but one that gave the teams another chance to be creative and see their SIBOL experience from their own perspective.

The afternoon turned up the energy as the campers took on the SIBOL Amazing Race, putting their teamwork, strategy, communication, and determination to the test.

With every challenge, teams had to think on their feet, work together, and figure out how to move forward. There were cheers, close calls, tired faces, and plenty of moments when teammates had to count on one another to get through each task.
It was an activity that asked everyone to play their part, stay with their team, and keep going when things got challenging.

And judging by the energy out there, the campers were more than ready for the challenge. 🔥
