IN FRAME | VEHICULAR ACCIDENT
1725H September 2, 2026

The EMS personnel of Sta. Margarita FS, under the supervision of SFO4 Erwin N Dominguez, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, responded to a vehicular accident at Brgy. Inoraguiao, Sta. Margarita, Samar.

Upon arrival at the scene two (2) patients were noted, both in supine position. The patients were conscious and sustained multiple lacerations primarily at their facial and parietal parts of the head. After initial assessment and wound care, EMS personnel immediately transported one (1) patient - the 67 year old male who sustained a lacerated wound at his parietal area of the head. Vital signs were taken while en route to hospital. Oxygen was also administered via nasal cannula.

The other patient was transported by the PNP Sta Margarita Personnel using their Patrol Vehicle.

Both patients were transported to Calbayog District Hospital for further medical management.

The BFP personnel of Sta. Margarita FS, led by SFO4 Erwin N Dominguez, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted fire safety lectures at Gaudencio Space Rental, Carolyn Property Lessor, Feliciano Space Rental (Dhel), and ASA Philippines Foundation.

During the activity, the BFP personnel of this station shared fire safety tips to strengthen the establishment personnel’s awareness and preparedness in preventing and responding to fire emergencies. They were also oriented on the proper use of fire extinguishers and reminded to keep exits clear, avoid electrical overloading, practice proper housekeeping, and immediately report fire and medical emergencies.

IN FRAME | REGIONAL LOCAL GOVERNANCE CHAMPIONS (RLGC) ASSESSMENT

The Sta. Margarita Fire Station’s Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, SFO4 Erwin N Dominguez, attended the Regional Local Governance Champions (RLGC) Assessment conducted earlier today at the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Session Hall.

The RLGC Assessment is a regional evaluation program facilitated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) that aims to assess, recognize, and promote excellence in local governance. It serves as a mechanism for monitoring and evaluating the performance of local government units and their partner agencies, while encouraging the continuous improvement of governance practices and public service delivery.

The assessment also provides an avenue to recognize exemplary performance and institutional initiatives that demonstrate transparency, accountability, efficiency, responsiveness, and effective delivery of public services.

IN FRAME | GRASS FIRE AT BRGY. SOLSOGON
1725H 26 August 2026

The BFP personnel of Sta. Margarita Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO4 Erwin N Dominguez, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, promptly responded to a reported grass fire incident at Purok 1, Brgy. Solsogon, Sta. Margarita, Samar.

Upon arrival, the responding firefighters immediately conducted fire suppression operations to contain and extinguish the blaze, preventing further spread to nearby areas and properties.

The BFP continues to remind the public to remain vigilant and observe proper fire safety practices, especially during the dry season, to help prevent similar incidents.

The activity aimed to strengthen the establishment personnel's awareness and preparedness in preventing and responding to fire emergencies. During the lectures, participants were oriented on the proper operation of fire extinguishers. They were likewise reminded of essential fire safety and prevention measures, such as maintaining clear and accessible exits, avoiding electrical overloading, practicing proper housekeeping, and immediately reporting fire incidents and medical emergencies.

IN FRAME | FIRE INCIDENT SIMULATION EXERCISE AT PUROK 6, BRGY. CAUTOD
1600H August 25, 2026

Relative to the continuing implementation of activities under the OLP Master Plan, the personnel of Sta. Margarita FS, headed by SFO4 Erwin N Dominguez, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted a Fire Incident Simulation Exercise at Purok 6, Brgy. Cautod, this municipality.

Purok 6 is identified as one of the highly vulnerable areas of Brgy. Cautod due to its relatively high population density, closely spaced residential houses, narrow pathways, low-lying electrical wires, and other existing fire hazards that may contribute to the rapid spread of fire and hinder emergency response operations.

The simulation exercise was conducted to enhance the preparedness and response capabilities of the residents, particularly in the critical moments before the arrival of the fire responders. During the activity, residents actively participated as the first responders in their community by performing the bucket relay technique, demonstrating the proper operation and use of a fire extinguisher, and applying the blanketing technique in extinguishing simulated small fires.
