Upon receiving a complaint from a resident in Southcom Village regarding open burning, the Barangay Calarian immediately responded and conducted an on-site inspection.

We remind everyone that open burning is prohibited as it poses risks to public health and the environment. We encourage all residents to properly dispose of their waste and help keep our community safe and clean.

Thank you to the concerned resident for promptly reporting the incident and to everyone who continues to support our efforts in maintaining a healthy and orderly Barangay Calarian.

LOOK📍Zamboanga City Steps Up Fight Against Littering With Higher Fines ⚠️

The City Government of Zamboanga is set to impose higher penalties on individuals caught littering as part of a stronger campaign to keep the city clean.

The move follows the amendment of the city's anti-littering ordinance, now known as Ordinance 2026-206, which raises the fines for violators.

Under the amended ordinance, individuals caught littering for the first offense will be fined ₱1,500. A second offense will carry a ₱3,000 fine, along with two hours of community service.

The stricter penalties are aimed at discouraging people from throwing garbage in streets, public spaces, and other areas covered by the city's anti-littering regulations.

The ordinance is expected to be implemented soon, with the city government urging residents and visitors to properly dispose of their waste and help maintain a clean and orderly Zamboanga City.
