The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office IX (DMW IX) conducted a Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS), hosted by Katilingban sa Kalambuan Inc. (KKI), for the parents and children of human trafficking victims on 28 August 2026 at LM Metro Hotel, Zamboanga City. The activity also provided information on DMW programs and services, including local employment opportunities.

The activity aimed to educate participating families about safe and sustainable employment opportunities within the locality, and support their journey toward economic stability and empowerment.

DMW IX remains committed to educating vulnerable families, protecting migrant workers, and advancing meaningful employment and reintegration support.

The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office IX (DMW IX) joined the BARMM Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education – Technical Education and Skills Development (MBHTE-TESD) World Café of Opportunities (WCO) held at the Covered Court of Central Elementary School, Barangay Maganda, Lamitan City, Basilan.

As part of the activity, DMW IX facilitated a job fair featuring two Private Recruitment Agencies (PRAs) that offered a total of 677 overseas job vacancies for TVET graduates and jobseekers looking for employment opportunities abroad.

DMW IX also conducted a Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS) to equip participants with information on overseas employment processes, requirements, and safe and legal migration. An Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIR-TIP) advocacy activity was likewise conducted during the opening program to raise awareness on the dangers of illegal recruitment and trafficking and promote safe pathways to overseas employment.

The participation of DMW IX in the WCO highlights its continuing efforts to bring overseas employment opportunities, information, and migrant worker protection closer to communities in Basilan and across the region.

The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office IX (DMW IX), through its Welfare Reintegration Services Division (WRSD), conducted the Financial Awareness Seminar and Small Business Management Training (FAS/SBMT) for 42 ELPOR applicants on August 26, 2026, at the DMW Regional Office IX in Zamboanga City.

The training focused on strengthening participants’ financial knowledge and developing essential skills in managing and sustaining a small business.

𝗗𝗠𝗪 𝗜𝗫 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁, 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗞𝗦𝗬𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗜𝗹𝗹 𝗢𝗙𝗪

The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office IX (DMW IX) conducted a home visitation to an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Zamboanga City on August 27, 2026 and personally released medical assistance under the AKSYON Fund to help support the beneficiary’s medical needs.

The assistance is part of DMW IX’s continuing efforts to bring government services closer to OFWs and their families, particularly those facing medical and financial difficulties.

Through the AKSYON Fund, DMW IX remains committed to providing timely and responsive assistance to qualified OFWs and their families while ensuring the protection of their personal and sensitive information.

The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office IX (DMW IX) joined the 32nd TESDA Anniversary World Café of Opportunities Job Fair 2026 held at KCC Mall de Zamboanga.

Five (5) Private Recruitment Agencies (PRAs) participated in the activity, offering a total of 9,472 overseas job orders to jobseekers.

DMW IX continues to strengthen its partnership with TESDA and other government agencies in bringing employment opportunities closer to Filipinos and helping them access decent and sustainable work opportunities abroad.

The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office IX (DMW IX) joined the PhilHealth YaKaP (Yaman ng Kalusugan) and Overseas Filipino Forum held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

The forum brought together OFWs, their families, and licensed manpower agencies to discuss updates on PhilHealth membership, collection, and healthcare benefits.

The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office IX (DMW IX) joined the 75th Araw ng Liloy Job Fair, bringing overseas employment opportunities closer to jobseekers in Zamboanga del Norte.

The activity featured 1,667 overseas job orders offered through three (3) licensed Private Recruitment Agencies (PRAs).

DMW IX also conducted an Orientation on Programs and Services and its Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) Campaign, providing participants with essential information on safe and legal migration and overseas employment.

The activity was conducted in coordination with Ms. Edyll Grace Poligrates, DOLE Liloy SLEO, and Mr. Reginaldo Eroy, PESO Manager, strengthening government efforts to connect jobseekers with legitimate employment opportunities and protect aspiring migrant workers from illegal recruitment and trafficking.
