Buo ang suporta ni Zamboanga del Norte 2nd District Representative Irene "Ai" Labadlabad sa mga inisyatiba't programa ng pamahalaan, sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., tulad ng Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa - National Reintegration Network (BBM-NRN) na layong mabigyan ng sapat na suporta ang pagbabalik at pagsisimula muli ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa bansa.

"Isang malaking pagkukulang kung hahayaan lang nating masayang ang karanasan, kasanayan, at lakas na dala ng ating mga OFW. It is therefore my commitment to support measures that protect our migrant workers and help them rebuild when they return in the Philippines," ani Cong. Ai Labadlabad.

Personal na dumalo si Rep. Labadlabad sa BBM-NRN event ngayong October 2, 2026, sa Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte, kasama si Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac at iba pang kawani ng DMW at partner agencies ng pamahalaan. Layunin ng BBM-NRN na ilapit ang mga serbisyo ng gobiyerno at oportunidad sa kabuhayaan at trabaho sa mga nagbalik-bansang OFW upang mabigyan sila ng pagkakataong magsimula muli sa Pilipinas.

Binigyang-diin ni Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac na malinaw ang tagubilin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Kagawaran pagdating sa pagsuporta sa overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at kanilang pamilya, at isang halimbawa nito ang isinagawang Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa - National Reintegration Network (BBM-NRN) sa Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte ngayong October 2, 2026.

"The President has firmly instructed the DMW and all allied agencies to leave no OFW behind and to ensure that government services are felt by every Filipino family down to the provincial and local levels...He expects us not only to protect workers habang nasa overseas, but also to build a sustainable, robust reintegration environment here at home hangtod sa pagpauli niyo makahatag kami og serbisyo," saad ni Sec. Cacdac.

Kasamang dumalo si Zamboanga del Norte 2nd District Rep. Irene "Ai" Labadlabad sa aktibidad na nilahukan ng iba't ibang partner agencies ng pamahalaan. Ang BBM-NRN ay isang inisyatiba ng gobiyerno upang ilapit ang kinakailangang public services, livelihood assistance, at job opportunities sa mga OFW na nais manatili at magsimula muli sa Pilipinas.

HAPPENING NOW: DMW IX Opens the 'Bayanihan Para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa' Caravan in Dipolog City

The wait is over for job seekers and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Zamboanga del Norte! The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office IX (DMW IX) has officially opened its doors today for the Bayanihan Para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa – National Reintegration Network (OFW Employment, Skills Development, and Reintegration Caravan 2026).

Currently underway at the 5th Floor Atrium of Top Plaza Hotel, Dipolog City, the one-day mega-caravan consolidates massive opportunities, services, and programs into a single venue for Zamboangueños.

The event is actively accommodating walk-in applicants and pre-registered participants for the following key services:
Local and Overseas Job Fairs: Direct access to verified employers and recruitment agencies.

Government Services: On-site assistance from various participating government agencies.

Skills Training: Registration and profiling for capacity-building and upskilling programs.

OFW Reintegration Programs: Livelihood assistance and business guidance for returning OFWs starting anew in the Philippines.

In a landmark event that powerfully unites the advocacy for migrant workers with national maritime security, Regional Director Gay Iris TS. Tangcalagan of the Department of Migrant Workers - Regional Office IX (DMW IX) officially took her oath today as a Commodore of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA).

The prestigious Donning and Oath-Taking Ceremony was held at the Headquarters of the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao in Zamboanga City. Presided over by Admiral Ronie Gil L. Gavan, Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the event marked her formal induction into the elite Executive Squadron Officers of the PCGA.

The entire Department of Migrant Workers - Regional Office IX (DMW IX) family extends its highest honors and warmest congratulations to Commodore Tangcalagan on this exceptional achievement.

Her induction represents a vital, strategic synergy between DMW IX and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). As a newly inducted Commodore, Dir. Tangcalagan brings her formidable leadership and unwavering dedication to the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) directly into the maritime domain. Her dual role will prove instrumental in safeguarding the rights, safety, and well-being of the thousands of Filipino seafarers who navigate the world’s oceans as our modern-day heroes.

As a distinguished member of the Executive Squadron Officers, Commodore Tangcalagan will play a pivotal role in advancing the PCGA’s core missions, including maritime search and rescue, marine environmental protection, and community civic action. The Department of Migrant Workers - Regional Office IX (DMW IX) and the Philippine Coast Guard - Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (PCG-CGDSWM) have officially joined forces to strengthen the safety, protection, and welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was formally signed today, October 1, 2026, at the Headquarters CGDSWM in Talisayan, Zamboanga City. Spearheading this collaborative effort were DMW IX Regional Director Gay Iris TS. Tangcalagan and Commodore Rejard V. Marfe, Commander of the PCG-CGDSWM.

This strategic partnership bridges maritime security and migrant welfare. The newly signed MOA establishes a unified operational framework to combat human trafficking and illegal recruitment at local seaports, facilitate rapid emergency response for victims of IR/TIP and sea-based OFWs, and ensure comprehensive support systems are readily accessible to the families of Filipino migrant workers across Southwestern Mindanao.
