Councilor Junnie Navarro Supports Schools and Students Through Notebook Distribution

The office of Councilor Junnie Navarro distributed notebooks to schools in Barangays Cacao, Bolong, Bunguiao, Culianan, Cabaluay Daycare, Divisoria, and Patalon Elementary school, as well as to hardworking students, in support of Brigada Eskwela and the upcoming opening of classes.

This initiative reflects Councilor Navarro’s continued commitment to supporting teachers, students, and quality education in our communities.

In light of the recent issue concerning the alleged illegal sale of portions of Once Islas to a private individual, based on claims that the islands are presumed to be inalienable lands of the public domain, Councilor Junnie Navarro proposed a resolution during the 22nd Regular Session.

The resolution expresses the full and unwavering support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod for the directives of Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso on ecosystem protection and regulatory enforcement in Once Islas and other environmentally critical protected areas within the jurisdiction of Zamboanga City. It also authorizes administrative and legal investigations into unregulated constructions and alleged illegal land transactions, while providing a legally compliant framework for funding and inter-agency enforcement.

Through this resolution, the City Council seeks to uphold environmental protection, strengthen regulatory enforcement, and ensure that all actions affecting Once Islas are in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

Councilor Junnie Navarro Extends Support to DSWD Tara, Basa! Culmination Activity

Councilor Junnie Navarro extended support by providing snacks to learners during the DSWD Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program culmination activity, encouraging their reading journey and continued learning.

The program promotes literacy and helps strengthen the reading skills of young learners in the community. We also extended assistance to the culmination activities in Barangays Talon-Talon, Sangali, and Pasobolong under the DSWD Tara, Basa! Program.

He remains committed to supporting programs that empower youth and promote quality education in the community.
