OOA 1300H 03 October 2026, Lower Tungawan Fire Sub-Station personnel, headed by SFO1 Edwin O. Cabaljog, Acting Sub-Station Commander, under the supervision of FSINSP JOEL B BASILIO, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, successfully conducted a house-to-house survey at Purok 5. Brgy. Lower Tungawan, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

As part of the continuous effort to strengthen community safety and fire prevention awareness, the Bureau of Fire Protection conducted a house-to-house survey covering a total of five(5) households under the Oplan Ligtas na Pamayanan Program (OLP).
This activity aims to assess residential fire risks, ensure compliance with basic fire safety measures, and educate households on proper fire prevention practices.

Lower Tungawan Fire Sub-Station personnel, headed by SFO2 Edwin O. Cabaljog, Sub-Station Commander, under the supervision of FSINSP JOEL B BASILIO, Municipal Fire Marshal conducted monitoring and inspection of fuel storage at Mini Gasoline Station located at Barangay Cayamcam, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The activity aimed to ensure strict compliance with fire safety regulations, proper storage and handling of flammable substances, and the readiness of fire protection systems. Personnel inspected the condition of storage tanks, availability and serviceability of fire extinguishers, presence of appropriate safety signage, and overall housekeeping to minimize potential fire hazards.

OOA 2000H 30 September 2026, BFP Lower Tungawan Fire Sub-Station personnel headed by SFO2 Edwin O Cabaljog, Acting Sub-Station Commander, under the Supervision of FSINSP JOEL B BASILIO, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted road nightwatch at Brgy. Cayamcam Tungawan, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The "Road Nightwatch" program is being launched by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Zamboanga Sibugay due to a concerning rise in road accidents, particularly during the rainy season. The province has experienced an increase in night time vehicular incidents attributed to reduced visibility, slippery roads and the general hazards associated with heavy rains.
